Hey ladies,
I'm new here and just looking for some new creative ideas ... I'm very crafty and have many resources at my hands.

I was searching for pocket invitations and I know the website where pocket invitations are at. I was wondering, has anyone done the pocket themselves? If so, how did you do it? I'd love to not purchase them and do it myself.

I may just have to bite the bullet and buy them and then DIY pocket inserts.

Thanks!

Kim

I have made a rough sample using regular paper. It was SUPER easy (and I am NOT a crafty person!!).

All I did was took an 8x10 paper (you could use a larger one), tri-folded it, and then cut off from about 1/4 to 1/2 of the way from the bottom and up to the top corner. Used glue along the bottom and side of the pocket to close it.

There could be a different way, but this was SO easy. Keep in mind that those picture are just rough rough ideas for myself. My actual invites will look much neater. :D

I know that is just a rough copy of what you are doing Jenny, but I really like it! I wanted to do the pocket invites, but didn't want to buy them somewhere because the cheapest I could find them was 1.00 a piece. Nice job!

I found these instructions awhile back. I was going to do them myself, but I decided the extra money was worth the time it would take, and ordered the pockets from Paper Presentation, lol. I'm lazy. I am still doing the invite part and the insert cards myself.

Thanks everyone! I can't believe how ridiculously easy it was, even for me. :) I'm not worried about the time it's going to take, as I have my MOH and one of my BMs just THRILLED to start these with me, so we'll make an evening of it. ;) I'll be sure to post pics once I'm done.

I just had to respond to you mentioning that you are making an evening out the assembly process with one of your bridesmaids.

You brought me back to an opld memory sitting around a dining room table in a assembly line form working on invitation packages. My job was to fold them and press the crease of the fold with the back of a spoon!

Thanks for the response.

Sorry been MIA for a while - who knew that wedding planning is so time-consuming!

Beautiful invitations. Ours are very similar....we actually got scrapbook paper and make pockets out of the paper, and have card stock for the "envelope" part of it.

And yes- we did an assembly line as well! My brother and fiance' made the actual sized envelopes, and we (my sister in law and I) folded and double-sided taped the pockets to the envelopes!

I can't wait to see yours - and I'll upload mine as well as soon as their finished!

If you go to this girl's blog, and just scroll down a little bit, you'll see her pocketfold invitations and GREAT instructions if you'd like to do it yourself! Personally, I love hers and I am planning on doing mine very similar!

While you're on her site, you should check out everything else that she has done... it's amazing!

Hello,
Well I know I've been quite quiet since my first post, but I am finally off for the summer (teacher) and really getting into wedding planning! I decided I wanted to share my pocketfold invitations! Enjoy!

The only thing I have left to do on these are to put the wax stamp on the gold fabric on the outside to seal it.

Comments? Opinions?

Love the scallopped edges!! What font did you use for the inserts?? Looks great!

Thanks! The font I used was "English." I looked it up on the internet and downloaded it.

Ok, so I've decided to do the pocket thing to. Similar to your pockets. Are you ladies planning on putting them in envelopes? I wasn't originally, but now I'm curious if the information is going to fall out.

I did. I used a little bigger size than normal envelope - 6' by 9'. They're a perfect fit. I don't have the two envelopes, just the pocket invitation and an envelope. No double addressing type- inside envelope versus outer envelope.

I agree - I think all the information would fall out - and we wouldn't want that.
