I am looking for ideas, What to serve at the reception/party that we are having before we go to Jamaica. I would like a beach/ tropical theame and for the food to follow suit.
I was thinking about kabobs, fruit display, ( thats about as far as I have gotten) I am trying to keep it simple so maybe we can make it the morning of (seeing how I wont have the "wedding day" stress) But I would like it to be a little more than just finger food.
We still dont have a place yet, so I dont know what the set up will be.
Also thinking of having crawfish, down here that is a HUGE thing, and just doesnt seem right to have a summer party and not have some. Although it doesnt really fit into my theame.
Anywho, any ideas would be appreciated.

Pineapple upside down cake? You might want to look at ethnic Hawaiian food, if that's not tropical I don't know what is! Also try ethic Carribbean food, like jerked chicken with rice or roasted bananas, or have a ground-roasted pig roast! That's pretty tropical, pork is a big meat. You could also have baked fish and coconut . . . .
Rum. That's tropical!
Search the Internet for Carribbean style or Hawaiian or Polynesian food, or even island style food, something ought to come up that you can work with.

I had something similar at a wedding before and it was really good. I'd love to try it out at home one day too, but without the peppers :p
