okay so i thought of going and getting my hair done until i was at the salon and it was going to cost $45 for a trial and for the wedding day so its about $100 for hair...which i think is ridiculous cuz all i want is my hair is pony tail and all curled...whats so hard about that...so now i'm just trying to find someone (a friend) that can use a curling iron to save me money! lol

You could also try shopping around to other salons. Explain to them that it will be a very simple style and they might lower it for you.

That's pretty normal, even in my area. Trial $55-$60 and day $70-$80

im doing my own hair and hoping for the best lol
i also feel that it is rediculous for bridal styles, i just want my hair curly. they dont charge 100 bucks to do it normally.. what gives lol, if my wedding wasnt so early in the morning i would just ask for a style, and it would only be 20 bucks or so.... darn people trying to rip people off lol

I know its ridiculous, my sister is in a theater program and is always having to do hair and makeup for herself and others that has to withstand dancing, running, costume changes; so I think I'm gonna ask her if she will do my hair for me, now we just have to come up with a style:)

lucky you, now if only my sister could do hair i wouldnt have to worry about hopping for the best hair day of my life lol
I found my stylist on Craigslist.. she works out of her home and she quoted me $400 for me (2 trials and wedding day), my 5 girls, 3 flower girls and 2 moms. Look for someone just getting started. You're bound to find someone :) Just make sure that you do a trial run!

If you have any beauty schools/cosmetology schools in your area, I highly suggest going there. You'll get salon products used and every student has to pass tests to be on the floor performing services, plus the prices are very discounted compared to a regular salon. When I was in cosmo school, we used to charge $15 for an updo, and an instructor has to "check" it to make sure it is how you want anyways, and if it isn't, she fixes it for you. I know they really appreciate it around here because it gives the girls practice on actual people instead of mannequins, so sometimes we even threw in a free pedi. :)

i got my trial done for 30 she usually charges 45 which SUCKS! I talked her down to 35 a girl on the wedding day but thats because i have 10 girls. I agree with the post above i know alot of girls that go there regularly for highlights and they do great! They coulnt mess up a curly ponytail...i could though!!

yeah, I don't want to pay that much for someone to do my hair, when i'm not even that regular at getting my hair cut! So I think I am just going to straighten my hair (it's naturally straight, but can be frizzy) really well, add a veil, and voila! done!

Ooh, good idea on the school!! I have one here that I went to once for a cut, and once for my grad picture style, and they were good, and WAY cheaper than the rest!!

nope, i walked in the morning of a wedding i was going to and said i needed my hair curled, the girls said it was 100 but since its a place where its independant stylists, one girl said she had one appointment an hour from then and could get my hair in the curlers before that and would only charge 35$----
