2 weeks ago I posted a thread in the Stress and Frustration forum - sharing how I'm not sure we're going to be able to afford our wedding.
Well, that week and this week have been soooo different! I sold my truck - yeah I'm bummed about that, but it had to be done. So I got $1200 for my truck. I figure I can pay off my dentist bill ($275), put a deposit on my photographer ($400), and get my flower girl dresses and BM's shoes and by that time I'll be broke.
This weekend I focused solely on finding those two things - the shoes and the dresses. I ended up getting not only the shoes (6 pair for $40), and the dresses ($40 shipped for 3 of em), I also was able to order our personalized napkins, our knife and server set, purchase the stuff to make my girl's jewelry (and get em done!), and a few other little things.
I have been thinking that that's about all I can do, and that I'm going to have to start designing a bunch of DIY stuff - well yes, that's still the case. So today I decided most likely I'll have to use silk flowers (save-on-crafts awsome deals). I don't want to use silks, but I will if I can't afford real flowers.
A few weeks ago I went to 3 florists in one day, and I really really liked one of them - of course the most expensive. So I wrote them off and figured there's no way I can spend $740 on flowers. JUST TODAY I was looking at silk flowers - for the first time ever - and decided that since they're so much cheaper, I will use them for my wedding. This afternoon I got a call from my favorite florist: The lady said that because the economy is so bad, they're offering a discount to their latest brides that they've talked to. Instead of $740, they're offering me my package for $400!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!
I'm just so happy, I had to share with someone, and you ladies are the first people I go to, since everyone else in my life is ready to wring my neck - ya'll understand :D
