Bridal Shower

Ok, so this may be a silly question, but when should you actully throw the bridal shower?? My MOH is doing mine, and doesn't know when to have it.

Ideas??

My thought was the weekend before the wedding. We are doing the bachorlette party that Sat, but I don't like to get too tipsy, so there won't be a prob for me to do it the day after that. My FMIL will be here from Tenn. that day. Is that too soon??

I had my bridal showers about a month before the wedding!! That way it gave me time to send out the thank you cards for those gifts and then it also gave me time to find the room for my gifts in my very small house at the time!! We also did my staugette the same night as one (i had two...in two different cities) of my bridal showers!! I think having a bridal shower a week before your wedding might be a little stressful, I would suggest at least a month before your wedding!! I am not really sure of when exactly you should have it, but I'm sure someone can tell you what the "rules" are on it!! (I don't follow rules so I just decided when I wanted it and told my MOH! She started to plan and then we went from there!!)

I know my mom's friend is putting one together for me in early April... the 8th i think. That will be a week or so shy of 2 months before my wedding. I would say enough time that the invites have gone out so everyone knows about the wedding, but not tooo close to the actual wedding because you will be so busy with the final plans.

I think a week befor teh wedding would be a little to stressfull, I'm getting married Sept. 9th and my shower is July 30th about a month between....

My mom told me the other day that are planning mine for July 29. That's about a month and a week before the wedding. I am actually have two showers. The other one will probably be in early July, or so I'm told.

About a month to 6 weeks beforehand is pretty standard.

It is pretty common (at least here) to have the bridal shower about a month (or even two) before the wedding.

Mine will be March 18. We're having it that day because most of my bms will be in Michigan where most of my family is and since the wedding is in Ohio, we figured Michigan would be the Bridal Shower location.

Anyways, that puts my bridal shower just under two months before the wedding, probably too soon, but with everything else that's going on, it actually ended up being a good pick.
