OK I was just making some chili for dinner and I think the groud beef may be bad.
We bought it like maybe Wednesday of last week; I didn't really look that closely at it then (DH picked it up), but at first glance it looked ok and I don't think it was expired (said sell by 3/9) or anything. It had been in the freezer until the day before yesterday.
Today when I took it out of the package to cook I noticed it as a lighter pink than usual, and it had sort of a funny smell. Even while cooking I noticed an odd smell, almost like soap :bbconfused:
So I am thinking it is just me and it fine, so I finish cooking it and put it into the chil and now the chili has a slight smell and tastes funny. I just had a taste of it to see if I seasoned it right.
I guess I am gonna throw it out to be safe; I may throw out the other two packages we bought that night too.
So now I feel like an idiot for even putting it in the chili if I thought was bad :geek: How can you tell if ground beef is bad anyway?
