ok ladies i need help... i am seriously having a hard time finding a location that i am happy with and our date is a little over 3 months away. i am somewhat dead set on an outdoor location but i dont want the reception site to be far away. this is my first ( and only.lol...) wedding and i wanted to hire a coordinator to help plan but there was no way that was in the budget. i am just stressing myself out soo bad trying to find a "central" location for my family and his to have to drive to. if any of you are in the dallas,tx area and know of any reasonable sites please send them my way!!!everything else is falling into my lap as far as invitations, cake and flowers, dress.. all that other stuff , its just ceremony and reception site. also what do you do when you cant agree on the officiant?? i want my old pastor to do it, but he doenst want to go through all the "counseling", hes been married before and thinks its pointless especially since we've already lived together for a year and a half. anywho... can anyone help a stressing bride?????

Im not from Dallas, but Im only an hour away. Have you checked into the Mesguite City Park (old one)? Ive never been there, but Brian's sister was married there and Ive been told it was pretty.

I don't live in TX (and I don't know your budget), so I can't help too much, but I just did a search of Dallas TX outdoor wedding locations and came up with a bunch of places. The Dallas Arboretum looked nice (it may have too many restrictions for you) and it didn't give any prices on the site www.dallasarboretum.org. I also thought Grand Traditions in Corinth looked nice www.grandtraditions.net, but may be too expensive. Other sites I found were www.roughcreek.com and www.alexandermansion.com . The best thing would be to do a local search on www.yellowpages.com or google it and I'm sure the other ladies will have more!

When you say you are looking for a central location for your families to drive do you mean there are out of town guests that you want to accomadate. I'm not from Dallas, but I know some about the hill country area and some of East Texas.

Good luck finding a place. I grew up in Dallas, but I don't know the area well. I know that there are lots of country clubs, so check them out. That's where I'm having my ceremony and reception, and they're really reasonable.

Cindy,
Yeah, I know where you are talking about. I like the area around Dallas. I defiantely like the Dallas area better than the Houston area or the Beaumont area. I'm getting out of here as soon as possible. And no offense to any Austin people, but I'm not really big into Austin either. I do like the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and I also like the Amarillo area.
