Let me preface this with saying Louisville, KY cannot handle snow. People have been panicking (and I mean like going to buy bread, water, etc.) since Thursday in preparation for this winter storm warning we've had since Friday morning. Usually we end up with like 1 or 2 inches maybe but this time the meteorologist was right and we actually got about 10"! So needless to say the city pretty much shut down lol. Feel free to laugh at us, all you northern people! Anyways, since neither of us worked today we spent the afternoon playing in the snow! Here are some pictures, but I know this storm system that dumped all this snow on us was pretty big, so has anybody else been enjoying the snow?

Our snowman kind of sucks, but we don't get a lot of snow, so we don't get to practice it very much!

We got about 2 or 3 inches here in Nashville, but it's already all melted off for the most part, lol. Snow doesn't stick around for long here. I did have a floral design meeting this morning canceled because of it though.

I have to admit that I am giggling a wee bit .... check out the photos that I just took - http://forums.onewed.com/showthread.php?p=245231#post245231

With that said, I can see how it might bring everything to a halt there. At least we have snow tires on our cars and our snow plows etc. that can handle the stuff. Still .... I am not brave enough to go out in the storm we are having today.

That's why I told you you could laugh lol!! That's so much snow! Louisville closes so much stuff for like every snow fall. We've even had school close early once b/c of the threat of a bad snow. I HATE driving when we have had a couple of inches b/c nobody here knows how to handle it. There are always soooo many minor wrecks! Last week the business consultant for work came in from Chicago, and everybody was talking about this winter weather storm we were under at the time, and he was laughing b/c he just came from like a foot of snow he said and the way we handle it, or don't as the case may be, is funny. I love the snow, and since we rarely get this much I was really excited about it! I would not want to trade places with you though!

Haha, I completely understand! Everyone here freaks out about snow. Our schools actually did close early on Friday even though the snow didn't start until like 8 pm. They also closed a few weeks ago when they were calling for snow, even though it never did.

lol its the same thing here. Everyone FREAKS out at the idea of snow, its ridiculous! We just dont know how to handle a couples inches of snow. Schools have closed about 10 days or so this year already and we havent gotten very much at all. Granted the ice storm sucked, but come on.

Ha ... I heard from someone today that the liquor stores were busier than normal yesterday. I guess if we are going to have a storm we might as well stay in and drink???

Cheers to that! I got my bottle of wine! All I can hear is the wind whipping ice, or sleet or hail or whatever it is on the house. It is sooo windy! It's crazy bad here. But we're used to this stuff.

My sis and neices and nephes live outside Louisville. They are sledding and loving it.

Yeah same thing here .... The wind is so strong ... and then it occurred to me that the power might go out and that I don't have any good long burning candles on hand. :purplex:

Toronto is getting the same. Syracuse isn't all that far from here. I am afraid that we are all in the same "yucky" boat :)

I live in the Chicago area, and we don't have anything! Just the remains by our mailboxes and a few little dinky snow piles from about 2 weeks ago. Other than that, I see our lawn!!!! We have had such weird weather this year! In January it was so warm the worms were out! Who see's worms in January!?!?

LOL I actually saw a worm last weekend but i didn't think a thing of it! That's how our weather has been too Dani. Snow, then 60 degrees, then snow again. I mean I about a months time, maybe a little more, we have numerous tornadoes, an ice storm, and now 10" of snow! It's insane!

Nik-I didn't know you had family down here! It's great sledding weather, I wish we had a sled so we could've had some fun! We saw on the news a couple of big sledding locations and there were SOOOO many people! They looked like little ants on an ant hill from the news chopper lol!

I live in the southwestern part of Ohio and we got about a foot of snow, I have pictures but it says I'm not a trusted member so I can't post them. It was really bad yesterday, we were on a level 3 snow emergency for about 9 hours. Since we either had to stay inside or face arrest (LOL) I got a little bit of cabin fever :bbmad: No one knows how to drive in the snow, and you would think we would all be pros at it as much as it snows around here, but no all it is; is an excuse for the crazy drivers to come out and cause accidents lol. When I can post pictures I'll post the ones I took yesterday!:flower:

Girl ... I AM JEALOUS! We had like 4 flakes (literally) fall yesterday and everyone was freaking out ... running to the windows to see it! It was such a big deal b/c we NEVER get snow ... not even a couple of inchs! Of course it did not stick and today the temp was like 60 degrees! THe day before it was like 75! Our weather is soooo screwed up here!!!
