Ok.....I went homa and played with an idea I got from Jenn. I think they turned out really well. You will have to understand that this was a "quickie" job and the real ones will be straighter, neater and more professional.
Tell me what you think:

Here is a rough draft of our reception cards. I think these will probably just be printed on white card stock.

Its actually supposed to be turquoise (which is a shade of blue).....my wedding colors are turquoise and opal. Brian picked them out and they are our birthstones.
Thanks.....I had printed some up with just turquoise ink and they were too bright. I added the gray hoping it would tone them down and it did.

I like the idea of the birthstones, that is great!!!! I have decided that my colors are going to be blue and yellow. I am doing daisies, which will be interesting in Nov, but Gerbera Daiseis are in then, anyway, blue because it's been my fav color all my life, and yellow, because I want it soft, and it will pull some color out of the daisies. I want to find the right shade of blue.

This is just an idea, but you could go to a craft store, and in their ribbon sections, they will usually have all of the blues in one area, reds in one, etc. and you could compare all the different blues.
Another idea, go to a paint store and get some of the little paint sample cards. They will also have EVERY shade of blue.

Cindy those are awsome! I really like them!
I only have one suggestion which is to pull you're names together closer so there isn't as much space between each line.
Other then that i adore them! Very pretty!

I picture my colours based on the colours the bridesmaid dresses and tux vests would be offered in. Check out some catalougs and that should help. The Alfred Angelo one has some really nice shades of blue!

I see what your talking about. I can see what I can do when I get back home. I may have to do some thinking on how to get it to work.
Thanks though. You have given me another idea.....if I can get it to work.

Cindy its great! The andperand ties the two names together nicely :)
You could print the teal boarder you had on the cardstock and trim arround it if you still really wanted it. It will look great either way i think!

Well, Im also copying you and taking mine to be printed and cut. Ive already called and priced it and its not much at all. They will be mounted on the turquoise card stock with a 1/4 inch border all the way around.

Thats great! It would have cost me $2 a cut for them to trim them. I didn't even think of asking if they would mount them.
I found with getting them printed the blacks are black not grey black. I have the 1/4 inch border on my as well. I'm thinkin i might draw a little heart in silver ink on the back of each one to dress up the back. It's looking so plain right now.

For Kinkos to print and cut 20 to 25 invitations on white card stock is going to be less than $15.

I have a question......should I mount the reception cards on the turquoise card stock too, or just print them on white CS?

They look great cindy! Love the color.

I think the reception card looks good the way you have it, not mounted. That way it doesn't take away from the invitation. :D

I agree that they would look great either way, but I don't think the reception cards 'have' to be mounted ... it it was me, I wouldn't bother.

I probably wont bother with it either. I think they look ok the way they are. Wasnt sure how that was supposed to go though.

It would look nice either way. I think with the ceramony invites mounted it will put a focus on that. I think that's probaly what you want, its about the wedding.
Good Luck!

Cindy the invites look great. I can't wait to see the finished product. And I agree with everyone else, I wouldn't mount the reception or response cards. It is just extra work and extra weight for postage.

aww thanks!
I really like what you did with them! I showed Mark and he thinks they're really nice as well! Good Job! You should take your monagram logo and use that on your menu and programs if you're going to do those! That would be really neat!

I was joking but I have no idea what I am doing yet. If your bored and you want to fool aorund withone for me go for it. Take a look at the last thign I posted in my journal of an invite. I am looking for kind of a western theme or style. It also has to include the kids. I think I may hav eposted that wording also in my journal. but if you wanted toplay aorund with some thing like you did with yours with the letters and such go for it. I am just at a loss here and I need to come up with somethign soon.

Goody! It will give something to do. I dont have anything wedding related to work on right now. You have any particular colors in mind or did you want to try and use all of your wedding colors?
We could print it up and then do the edges "westerny" like burnt or with the tea.

Just play around if you want and let me see what you come up with. If it comes down to colors Nicholas and I realy like purple. More of a lilac is one of the colors in the wedding. Not sure I could incorparate ALL the colors.

It would be hard to use ALL of the color.....I will play around with the purple.
