View Full Version : Mom's Birthday... Help!!
Alright, I'm setting a $50 max limit for mom's birthday. Her birthday is TOMORROW. I live about 80 minutes from her, and I have to work tomorrow, so going to see her is out of the question. I was thinking about ordering her some flowers and having them delivered - I've never done that before. But I'm wondering if anyone has any long distance birthday gift ideas.
Thanks!

Maybe have a gift basket delivered?
Who does stuff like that? Would a florist do it or are there certain types of stores/companies that do it? I have never done this before LOL.

This probably won't be helpful for mom ... my my friend sent a large pizza with her honey's favorite toppings with a happy b-day balloon attached to her boyfriends job. I thought that was creative!!!
I think the good florists will usually have basket options to choose from.

I always send my mom flowers for her bday, she lives in colo. and I live in Missouri. You can get flowers from proflowers.com for under $50. Good Luck!! Your mom has an awesome bday...it is mine too!!:bun:

Yeah, some florists do gift baskets. I looked up "Sacramento, CA gift baskets" and found a few other places that deliver cookies and chocolate covered fruits and such :)
:goodluck:

I always look up florists in the town where the person lives. Just call them, tell them your limit and ask them what they can do for you. This way you avoid the "FTD" charges - ie more bang for your buck.
The other thing I have done for people who lived far away .....
Call a local spa and pay for a massage, manicure or pedicure.
Call her favourite local restaurant and get her a gift certificate.
Most places will take a credit card number over the phone.
Heck, there are a lot of places online where you can buy a gift certificate and it will be sent via email to the recipient.
Grrnesss.. awsome ideas gals! I appreciate it! I just got off the phone with mom and she's flying out on Saturday for a week. So Flowers and fresh fruit are out of the question. She's not a huge chocolate fan. Hmmm... I like the idea of a massage or something, but she won't take the time out to use it. A meal would be nice, but I'd like to have something delivered. I guess this is what I get for waiting till the last minute.

If you want something delivered, why not deliver a singing quartet or a clown? :)
That would be a trip :) The thing is she's never in one place for longer than about 30 minutes...
I called her this morning and told her that I looked for 2 hours last night for something for her, and she said that she really wants to spend a day together.. just me and her and Matt, and hit the malls and look for wedding stuff - and I can buy lunch lol. So, I guess we're going to plan a day together when she gets back so that we can hang out - with no dang time limits!!
