So I want to get started on my tote bag project but I need all you clever ladies to offer ideas if you have any. My usual person to help me with my creative stuff is my MOH so she can’t help with her own gift.

I ordered the tote bags and sadly they weren’t what I expected because I wanted them to be wider instead of so tall. I like the way they look though.

I was thinking of putting their initials on it in a triangle. I want to add some more design but not sure what yet. I’m debating adding a quote somehow, a special one for each or a really good friendship quote for all of them.

I will fill the bags with goodies, like mints and beauty products.

I will post pictures of the totes tonight if I remember. Here are the ones I ordered (I got them in red).

If I have the money I will go to Michaels this weekend before I head to New Bedford for one of the million GTGs. Why couldn’t all the parties happen next year?? :purplex:

Those totes are great - and I like the initials/quote idea!

I would use their initials or names to be honest :)

That's what I said, I am going to use their initials. I don't want to use their names because I think it seems not appropriate for our age.

Someone else mentioned this in another thread and I never really thought about it.... If you use their first initial it is not aan issue, but if you use all three, their names will change if they eventually get married. Some people would not care about this, but I know my one bridesmaid would ahve a COW!!! just thought i would pass along the advice!

I reallt like the totes! Can't wait to see pictures!

Brendalin makes a good point, that is the exact reason why I put their full names on the totes because have of my bridesmaids are married yet and so their initials might be changing, unless they are like me and marry someone who last name starts with the same letter as my last name now

3 out of 4 are married. The fourth one is 15 years old. So I thought it would probably be ok. I could do nicknames maybe.

I think that if they are married then you are probably in the clear!

I'm thinking about nicknames. The only problem one is my MOH/SIL because she is always making new ones for herself but I like calling her Smilie because she's always saying things like Stewart Smilie.

The others would be Krissie, Jusy and Allie.

I need to think of other design ideas too. Any lettering ideas?

I absolutely love Papyrus... it's elegantly simple and easy to read :)

Are you going to paint the names/initials on? If that's the plan I would just go to a craft store and see what they have for lettering stencils - makes it easy!

I don't know what that is.

I want to do iron on letters, I just have to now really choose what I want from Michaels...I keep going but never seem to make a decision.

Oh sorry, Papyrus is a font - you can download it from font download websites. It's actually in Word Perfect, but not in Microsoft Word.

I did the iron-on letters with mine and am very very happy with how they turned out. I got some from Hobby Lobby. The black bags are for my bridesmaids and the smaller white ones are for the flower girls.

SweetVenus, I just bought the same iron-on letters for my bags! Got them at Hobby Lobby but haven't used them yet. They look really cute, I really should do mine soon!
