Hey yall... I wanna make some $$$ soon! I really really really want to get FH tickets to the Bonnaroo music festival b/c Pearl Jam will be playing there. (For those of you who know me REALLY well ... FH is the world's BIGGEST Pearl Jam fan) I want to get them and put them in a card and have one of his groomsmen give them to him on our wedding day before we walk down the aisle! He is sooo bummed b/c he thinks there is NO way that we could ever go b/c for 2 tickets they are $500!!!! So I am thinking of making some extra cash by selling stuff on ebay. I have never sold anything on there but I am seriosly considering it... any tips for those of you who have?

I sold a couple things and I lost a little on one. I didn't know how to calculate the shipping cost right and so it was more than I charged for. But one other thing that I tried to sell (and haven't), someone emailed me and asked if I was serious on the shipping cost. I thought it was reasonable according to the weight, and he ended up not buying it even though I changed the price. I don't know, I think it depends on how bad someone wants something.

My FH is a serious ebay seller and his deal is that most everything he sells starts at $0.99 and he usually does a 10 day sale. He starts on a Thursday night so it ends on Sunday night. He has a small digital scale that he uses to weigh then goes to the USPS website to find out the shipping. He might add a little onto that to make a little change off the shipping, but not much. I guess they just changed the charges for selling, so now it's cheaper. Just don't have too high of expectations and you might be surprised.

I sell a pretty good amount on ebay sometimes I lose money sometimes I win. All depends on what item it is like for example I sold my Nintendo WII which I bought for $250 and sold on ebay for $465 but I bought these shoes for $80 and sold for $15.

Before you list anything I would research it on ebay first. Do a search for the item and see how much is it going for. The trick is to set the item low and shipping around $15. I get a lot of complaints about the shipping being so high but I tell them that is why the item is so low. If they don't want to pay that go somewhere else.

Another trick is instead of uploading multiple pics into ebay which cost about .15 cents a pic you can do it for free on photobucket and put the html code into your description section.

And lastly ebayers NIT PICK at everything! Make sure you describe the item to a T! They will do anything to save a dollar! I had a lady complain because she sent the money to the wrong email address and wanted me to pay the fees because she did that. Which was about 59 cents, I told her to go kick rocks and re-listed the item.

Fh and I sell stuff on craigslist so I can't help with ebay tips- since craigslist is local people can just come pick stuff up and there are no shipping costs... We've actually made about $1000 selling random stuff over the last year!

Getting aggravated!
I have filled out everything completely but everytime I click "Save and Preview" it gives me a (!) Mark and tells me that I need to enter a value in the title. So I click on title and it takes me to the "Clothing-Shoes-Accessories-Dresses" Catagory. WHAT THE HECK DO THEY MEAN? ENTER A VALUE IN THE TITLE?

This is what I put as my title?
"Jessica McClintock zebra print cocktail, pageant, prom, dress (3/4)"
What VALUE do I need to put in there? I looked at all the help catagories but there was nothing that helped me?

I am not sure but it might not allow characters such as hyphens, commas, semi colons, underscores, forward/backward slashes or ampersands ... try removing the 3/4 and your commas.

I had to many letters! The max was 55. I don't know why they just did not say that! Luckily they have a live chat help person so I was able to get that problem solved!
