Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer, and apparently they're saying he may only have weeks to live.........

How sad!?!? :(

This breaks my heart! I just loooove Patrick Swayze! On the bad side ... Pancreatic Cancer is like one of the worst kinds and very hard to treat/get thru. This just makes me so sad....

I couldn't believe it when I heard this. People with Pancreatic cancer usually do not live long after they are diagnosed. Cause it is one of the worst and there is not much they can do about it. And you can't live without your pancrease. Its so sad.

It just breaks my heart that someone still relatively young has to go through something so hideous. :(

The last update I heard was that he was responding well to the treatment and that he is keeping his head up.... Pancreatic cancer is very hard to detect.. the only detection is when they start developing symptoms and that is usually when it is just about too late, plus its difficult to treat with some major organs and arteries and its position in the abdominal cavity.... i still found him adorable in Roadhouse... haha....

When I heard about this I was just so sad. I feel like I have a little itty bitty connection with him because he went to the University of Houston with my mom and they had a few classes together. Yeah, pancreatic hits you hard. Maybe he'll be one of the lucky few that beat it.

No, but I did see him on the cover of a magazine today. They had interviewed him. I wanted to look in it, but I didn't have the time. :purplex:

From Red Dawn to Roadhouse and Black Dog, he has been my "guy". Dirty Dancing has been my favorite "feel good" movie since it was released (my ex-husband hated it, I always did my housework with it in the VCR). No matter my mood, this movie brought me UP.
I had a very good friend from high school die of pancreatic cancer in a matter of months because it exhibits very few symptoms and apparently has no risk factors. Bruce NEVER smoked, drank to excess, etc, etc, etc. He was a country person, like me, and enjoyed the outdoors, his family (high school sweetheart and two kids), loved fishing and hunting and camping. It really rocked my world when I found out he was gone.
Rob's cancer is still in remission, and we pray every day it stays that way. He is feeling better every day, but not yet able to work, which makes him very cranky. When I consider the alternative, I'll take cranky every day.
