My Candle Arrangements

Hi. I try to keep most things in my journal. However, if I want more opinions I think it's best to start a new thread.

Our reception area has 8' rectangular tables. They will have a white table linen with a long black satin table runner. Then in the center will be this floral arrangement. On each side of that will be a candle arrangement, and then on each end a small mini floral arrangement.

These crystals will be worked into the floral arrangements and candle arrangements. I've been working on different ideas. I am having a hard time decided so I'd love some input. I'm working on a couple more styles today so I'll post those later.

I can't decide which I like better and which will look the best. I'd appreciate any input.

So are you asking about which one to use; the floral or the candles? I like them both, maybe you could alternate.

If I had to pick one, I'd choose the candles. But if budget is a concern and the floral one is cheaper there is nothing wrong with that one either.

Not exactly. I am for sure having the large floral arrangement as the center. Then a candle arrangement on each side. I want to include the elements of the crystals in with the candles. I've been playing around with different ways to do that. Those are three ideas I came up with. I'm working on a few more. I'll post them in a bit.

OIC now ... I like the big one with the back stones. But would that be too big; maybe the smaller ones would look better on either side of the flowers.

I personally think the middle piece (in the case the flower arrangement) should be significantly taller than the side pieces.

So maybe if you used a taller vase for the flowers then the candle in the vase with black stones would be nice ... just my two cents :)

I agree about preferring the taller candle - is it in the same vase as the flowers in the picture you posted? I think part of what I like is the similarity of the vases...so if you put the flowers in a taller vase that might change...

Eta: Maybe could you put the flower vase on something to make it taller, so you don't loose the similarity of the vases, but still get the height?? Like a box covered in black fabric?

The flower arrangement is set. I already bought all those vases, delivered them to the florist, and paid for everything. So that will be the arrangement. I have many more of those vases than I needed for arrangements though which is why the florist & I talked about using them for the candles. We figured even though the vases were the same height the florals were taller and the mini flowers were smaller, so we'd have different heights; with the highest point being in the center. I am posting some more options I'm working on right now. I wish I had done a poll when I start this thread. LOL

BTW...I like your idea bout giving the floral more height...I'm going to work on that; see what I can figure out.

Okay. That is all I'm doing. I have enough to choose from and I don't want anymore choices. Looking at the pictures I think I am liking the taller ones in the vases better than the shorter ones.

I also like A and C. But I like the very first picture too, where you have the flowers, the smaller votive, the bigger candle, and then another votive....that would be pretty running down both sides on the table too. :)

I made the final decisions on the candle arrangements and got them all finished. This is the one I went with.

My hands are all swollen, soar, and cut up from doing these, but I love how they turned out and I think they will be beautiful.

Those are gorgeous, and I don't know what you are going to do with them after the wedding, but I sure in the heck would love to snag a couple of those for my house as decor... fabulous!!!!

where did you find the branch with the crystals on it? I love it. I haven't narrowed down my centerpcs yet. I am forming some ideas in my head. I seen a pic in a magazine where there was a vase with beads at the bottom a long tall flower branch stuck in the beads filled with water and floated candles at the top. it was really pretty. But i love those crystal branches.

I made all the crystal branches. They were pretty time consuming and very hard on my hands, but worth every bit of trouble. Thx for the compliments.
