Your mission, should you accept it - is to find me some plain white (or a dark wine, cranberry color) jam spreaders. I want to do my own version of spread the love - and have actually found a really good price for white plastic, but I thought I might be able to find some that were a wee bit better quality, but still cheap :p If the handle had a snowflake or a mitten on the end I would kiss your feet! but I have searched high and low (found some blue ones with a snowflake on the spreading part - but the color is wrong). I would like to keep it under a dollar, so I might be asking too much - but I thought I would throw it out there. I would need about 125.

Thanks in advance!

Try Kitchen Collection or Le Gourmet Chef. I work at the last one. I know that we have in the store boxed sets of 4 per box for 3.99 per set. They also have individual ones. The boxed sets are normally all metal and a little better quality. The ones we have now the handles are in the shape of tassels. The orginal ones I sold had a grape vine pattern. Let me know and I could probaly get them for you with my discount. send me a message at beth_howell@verizon.net I'll be happy to help you out.

Send me a quick PM or email to remind me. My supplier carries cutlery as well as plates/platters. I will check their catalogue at home, to see if anything fits the bill.

BTW - is a jam spreader the same type thing as a butter knife?

Hi Ladies!

Sorry I didn't get back to this thread - but I have good news! (in case you care - LOL) Kind of a long story, but I'm bored.. :D

I was out and about on my lunch hour the other day, and having just found out that my niece is pregnant, thought I would check out one of the local scrapbook stores. Well, my sister saw my car outside the store and stopped in too. Meanwhile, we had been talking about this little rinky dink dollar store that had opened up next to the scrapbook store (she NEVER misses stuff like this so I was all proud that I could tell her about a new place opening up). I did say that I only blew through it the one day - so we decided to check it out. She found some cotton balls - bags of blue, pink or yellow! so that was kind of neat (we don't know gender yet). So we're just browsing along and as we get to the kitcheny stuff I remembered my jam spreaders and told her - 'Hey, in your travels - can you watch for something like .........' (and I was trying see if they might have some example of spreaders) and lo and behold - there were a bunch of packages of jam spreaders! so I kinda squealed and said.. THESE - THESE are exactly what I am looking for!' There are 6 in a package - the handles are a light tan - sort of bamboo colored, and they are PERFECT! (I kinda wanted white at first, and I might still paint them, but if I get lazy - these will be fine.) I only bought one package at first, to test them out and make sure the blades wouldnt pull out of the handle or you'd get slivers from the handle or anything, and they are fine. So I pretty much cleaned them out. I couldn't believe my luck - 6 spreaders for $1. I have to experiment with these a bit - if I paint them white, and then add/paint on "Spread the Love" or if I leave them natural color and add the "spread the love" OR if I just include the 'spread the love' on the tag.... decisions.. decisions.... :) Anyway - sorry for my rambling - but I got SUCH an awesome deal, in such a kismit way I had to share. :D Thank you ALL again for your help and suggestions and searching for me!!
