Have you ever attended one? The jewlery store that we have chosen to use for my ring is having a Jewelry Restyle Event in their store mid March. I haven't ever attended one before, but if I understand it correctly, they have a certified jeweler onsite that will remount your exisiting jewelry in new settings or design a new piece for you with their settings and loose stone choices. Did anyone get their ring through one of these types of events? Are they worth checking into? Thanks!

You can generally do the exact same thing with an independent jeweler (read: NOT Zales, Jared, Helzberg...) any time of the year. We got both of my rings done this way, and I'm very happy.

Thanks! I know that independant jewelers do this kind of thing all the time- We are probably going to stick with Helzberg only because I have a ring from a previous engagement where the wedding never happened that I will be using as a trade in. This will save us $3K on the new ring. I was just curious about the restyle event. I think we are going to check it out because it certainly can't hurt anything and I might find a ring that I just fall in love with there.

ETA - I'm not keeping any of the stones from the previous ring either, so my new ring will be completely different than the old one.
