Have any of you thought about what you are going to give you're parents for a thank you gift for being apart of your wedding?
This thought crosssed my mind tonight, and i really have no clue. I'm thinking a framed engadment photo of us might be nice. But i don't know. I'd like to give them a framed photo from the wedding as well... but i want to have somthing for the rehersal dinner when we give the wedding party their gifts.
Also... any thoughts on what to get a flower girl (6) and a ring bearer (3)?
Thanks in Advance for you're ideas!

My flower girl present was an activity, we went to "build a bear" where you get to make your own teddy bears, dress them, stuff them, name them and stuff. It was nice because we got to spend the day together, and they got to take something home with them as well. I'll probably get them a little token to give at the rehersal dinner, but not tooo big since the teddy bear's were expensive.
I'm not sure what to get the parents. I would love to be able to afford a weekend getaway, after all the stress and hard work they've gone through.

Aww build a bear is a great idea! Both of them would get a kick out of that!
Thanks.... i might just do that!

Jen, there's one in Vaughan Mills.
Make sure you go with a budget, as it can get out of control. I told them that they could pick any bear, outfit and one accessory. It cost about $50. each. You could spend a lot less though, or a whole lot more.

I've seen the one at Vaughn mills! It's so cute! I made a bear (well white scotish dog) at a toy store in London England a couple years ago. It was the neatest thing ever!
There is a build a bear kiosk now in the Upper Canada Mall. My FSiL made one there arround Christmas. I was thinking i might check out the prices there.

I don't know how much you were thinking on spending on your parents, but what about a night at a nearby bed and breakfast, just so they can get a way for a night?

That is a nice idea... i'm not sure how much those cost arround here so i will definatly check that out. We don't have a whole lot of money, and since Mark's parents are both re-mairred what we do have needs to go a bit further.
We want to give them all albums after the wedding. But we kinda feel like we should have somthing for the rehersal dinner. The only thing i can think of is the engagement photo in a frame.

Well, I emailed some gift ideas to Sean to pick out for his mother. I think he is leaning towards the crystal vase. She does a lot of entertaining so she uses stuf flike that all of the time. There is a bracelet that my mom has had her eye on for a while now. It is only about $10 out of the price range but it is sterling so I am not sure if she will actually wear it. I'll have to hint around over the next couple of weeks to see. As for the dads, Heaven help us I don't know. My dad is impossible to buy anything for. That is why we always just take him to dinner or get him a gift certificate. But for my wedding I wanted something a little more sentimental than dinner on us Smokey Bones. So we will have to see.
I love the Build a Bear thing. I might have to take Haeleigh and Jillie to do that. They are obsessed with that place. As for right now though, they are getting little gold cross necklaces if I ever can haul myself to the mall to pick them up.

We are doing a sand ceremony to include all of our children in the wedding. Each child (or maybe 2 together) will have a different color of sand. When I figure out WHAT color everyone will have and in what order, I want to make up some small bottles, and Im going to give them to our parents. They will have small replicas of how ours will look after we hold the ceremony.

Joe and I are giving our parents photo albums, with an engagement picture on the front and then we'll put some photos in them after the wedding.
I was thinking about the pretty books with the silver frames on the front, with black "velvet" backing. Joe hated them...said they were falling apart in the store (the displays...like they're not opened, bent and closed a million times a day)
I found red fabric covered albums at Kohls, with a place for a pic on the front and places to write notes about the photos on the sides. Red is close enough to burgundy, as far as I'm concerned and I think they ended up being $8.50. I think it will be a nice gift.

I went searching online the other day and i came across an album which had mahogany covers. You can get a message engraved on the front. It was really nice! I think we are going to get those for our parents.

Build A Bear Rocks!! I work there, I know. :bbmrgreen:
I'm made my flower girl earrings and a bracelet to wear in the ceremony. I'm also getting her some little flip-flops for after her feet get tired, and probably a toy or something to entertain her the night of the rehearsal.
Elias is our ring bearer, so we're going to get him a sterling chain to put our rings on during the ceremony. At the ceremony we are going to give him a pendant. Not sure which one yet.
I'm giving my attendants their jewelry, some flip flops, and lip gloss. We're on a budget too.. But the parents gifts... Hmm.. I really don't know. I might get my mom a Scorpio ring, and My dad... Maybe a nice wallet. His wife a locket with 4 panels (my dad's picture, Elias, her two kids). Carlo's mom, probably the 4 panel locket too. She's got 4 grandkids. His dad... Something art related. I might end up painting them all something. Who knows.

I don't know how much you were thinking on spending on your parents, but I saw a company called Unique British Gifts at a recent Bridal Expo in Philly. They have a range of beautiful handcrafted one-of-a-kind gifts available online. Their website is www.uniquebritishgifts.com (http://www.uniquebritishgifts.com/).
We're buying our moms some of the gold and silver jewelry and they have some real cute pewter pocket watches for our dads.
Just an idea.
