Yes it is a lot of people. It is actually 132 more people than I had orginally planned on inviting. :icon_barbar:Keep in mind there are probably at least 100 children in on that count and their meal is half off.

We orginally had a count about that number, but it just kept going up. I would like to see a good number of people come, but not that many. I think around 150-200 would be a good number. I think most of my family will come for sure and that's the most important thing!

My bachelorette party was Saturday. I'm not going to write much about it right now because I am really hung over still, but hopefully my friends will send me some pictures so I can get them up here. It was really fun and really crazy. I got home about 3:30 AM. Justin was waiting up on me and busted out laughing when we walked in the door. I actually got up and made it to church because we had our Thanksgiving dinner at the church. I was okay suprisengly. I came home and went back to bed. I just now got up and I feel worse than this morning. Maybe I was a little buzzed still. That's horrible if I was at church!

So I'm still waiting on the pics. I knew I should have brought my own camera. As you can see we have a few replies trickling in from the ones that made it there successfully. So far that count is 14 adults (people over 12) and 2 children, obviously equaling 16.

The invitation fiasco has got me really bent out of shape and mad! :hothead: We got another one returned today. I think I am just going to have Justin hand deliver it. It is one of his friends that lives close to us. It is just so darn frustrating.

We went out of town for Thanksgiving so I have so much catching up to do here at Onewed. Then on Saturday I had my bridal portrait. I can't wait to see them and of course I will put them up. We went to a botanical garden in Houston. It would have been nicer if it was in the spring and the flowers were blooming, but it was still pretty. I am really looking forward to seeing the fountain shots.

I had my hair done how it will be for the wedding. I loved it! My stylist did such a good job. While I was there I made the appointments for the wedding day. All of my BMs are having it done there except my MOH. I still need to make make-up appointments. Hopefully I can get that done this week.

Tonight I addressed the envelopes for the rehearsal dinner invitations. Justin is going to mail them tomorrow for me. I have one thank you note I have to write for a gift I received. It is a very pretty silver plated memory box with our names and wedding date engraved.

I have the church shower coming up on Sat. and then I have a meeting with our cake lady after that. To sum it up, I am busy busy.

My hair is done the way it will be at the wedding for the pics. I didn't take any pics with my camera, but there will be plenty to see in the bridal portrait.

I am very anxious to see the bridal portrait pics. We are going to get an 11 X 14 to display at the reception. Before I was even engaged mom was at this antique auction and bought this hideous looking picture. She didn't buy it for the picture, she bought it because of the frame. It is a beautiful, large silver frame. We are going to pick the prettiest bridal portrait and frame it with this frame. Then it will be displayed on an art easel at the reception. I can't wait! All the frame needs is a little polish and it is going to be to die for! After the wedding mom says I can have it to put up in my house.

On the down side, another invitation got returned in the mail yesterday. My RSVP deadline is next week, so I guess some of them are going to end up being late. That is why it is a good thing that I left myself a little over a week lag time before I have to give my guest count to the venue.

It's funny how some people are asking me if they have to rsvp. They say you know I'm going to be there. I tell them that lots of people say that and there is no way I could keep up with everyone who says that. Some people!

HalloweenBride

Kacie, everyone said that to me too.."you know i'm going to be there!!!" only 2 people in the bridal party sent theirs back, they said it was stupid! Then of course there were like 15 people that rsvp'd yes, and didn't come. oh well! I can't wait to see pix of your wedding!

Oh well I know! A few are coming back every day. That is a positive thing. Less people for me to have to track down later! Next Tuesday is the day they are supposed to have them mailed out by. So I will not start calling them until next weekend I guess. Hopefully I will not have that many to call. I think I have to have my final guest count to them 10 days before. I guess I need to check on that!

I know this is nothing related to the wedding, but I wanted to post a pic of my babies in their Christmas pose. They are very hard to get by the way! I have another cat, but I don't know where she is off to tonight. They are both outside cats, but since it's so cold out tonight I brought Blaze inside. Lilly is off somewhere or another. Maybe I'll get a picture of her by the tree later.

Here is our dog Sadie!

Thanks everyone! I am kind of partial to my fur babies myself. Lilly came in early this morning so I will probably get a picture of her today. I wish I could have found her last night. I feel bad that she had to stay outside. When we woke up it was 28 degrees. I always have the garage cracked 365 days a year so they can come inside there. Justin has his hay stored in the garage and I have some old blankets in there for them to lay on. Even with that I would have rathered her spend the night inside where it was warm. Blaze sure enjoyed being inside for the night and he's still in here on my lap while I type.

Nikki, it is very exciting that I am down to 29 days! Just days to go! No more months! I think at first it went by very slow, but now it is going fast. I'll be glad when it's over. It seems I've been so busy planning that Justin and I haven't really spent a lot of time together. I'll be glad when we can be normal again. I've been working on this wedding for almost a year now. It's been fun, but I'm really ready for my big day! I can't wait!

Tomorrow is a pretty big day. I have another shower given by the ladies at the church at 2:00 and then after that I have a meeting with the cake lady. She is baking us a tester cake. I can't wait to try to rasberry filling! I also need to bring her a picture of what I want my cake to look like.

I have posted it before, but here it is. It is called snowflakes and roses. Instead of the roses on top I have a cake topper.

The shower at the church today was really nice. I enjoyed it. I got some nice stuff. The cake again was divine. I took a picture. I'll have to get it up later.

Unfortunately we did not get to meet with the cake lady. Apparently there was some miscommunication between my mother and her. She thought we were supposed to meet next Saturday. Anyway we are going to meet tomorrow now because next Saturday is my cousin's wedding. I was pretty bummed about that because I was really looking forward to talking with her. On top of that Justin's mom drove all the way down here to meet with her with us. She lives an hour away, so it's not that bad. We ended up going to Wal-Mart and she got some fabric to do Justin's groom's cake table and some candles for the rehearsal dinner.

Tonight is Justin's bachelor party. I am at my mom's because it is at our house. I sort of don't like it there because I hate being "thrown" out of my own house. On the other hand it's good because I know Justin is not in a vehicle with a bunch of drunk men. I had to go over there to get my stuff and there were so many people there. Trucks were parked all over the place. Some of the guys I didn't even know. Justin is a social butterfly, so it doesn't surprise me. I swear if you go to Wal-Mart with him you will be there forever because he knows half the state of Texas and has to talk to them all.

ikkin510
12-03-2006, 02:28 AM
That stinks about the cake lady. Glad the party went well though.

I know what you mean about the social butterfly. The only difference with Steve is he is related to most of them since his parents are both from HUGE families. I worry if he doesn't stop to talk to at least 3 people each time out!

12-03-2006, 07:07 AM
Sorry about the miscommunication with the cake decorator. Let us know how it turns out.

I know how you feel about Justin knowing so many people. I commented the other day that if Jerry went grocery shopping or out with me that we took forever since he had to stop and talk with everyone.

We got to meet with the cake lady today! The sample cake she baked was really good and really beautiful. Actually I just finished eating another piece of it. I have always said that I wanted rasberry filling so she baked one half of it with rasberry filling and the other half with rasberry cream cheese filling. I like the rasberry the best so that is what we decided. We put half down on it and they will deliver and set up for free! Now Justin's mom has to call her and discuss the groom's cake. She was telling us she has a tractor pan or she could even do the John Deere emblem. For those that do not know Justin sales farm equipment for John Deere.

The grooms cake sounds wonderful! I think they are so neat! We didn't do one. They arn't common here.
Some days i think Mark knows the world too! lol! He talks to so many people when we are out. Parents and students and other teachers from work. It's so bizzar to me. But it's kinda fun too!

Yes I agree with you and the other ladies. Just hopefully more will come in today and by the end of the week. I don't understand why some people do not respond. It's really easy to check yes or no and then walk to the mail box and put the flag up or drive by the post office and drop it in the box. That's not rocket science and takes about 2 seconds. I'm sure more will come in today though. A couple of people I've casually mentioned it to said they put them in the mail Sat.

Kacie, I thought of you on Tuesday. I took my wedding invitation to the post office to double check the postage. I apparently was bothering the lady by buying two books of stamps and asking her to take a second and weight my envelope, as she tossed it back at me and grunted "It's fine!" Yeah....I'll go to my post office at work to double check. I don't trust them!

I don't have to go back to school until Wednesday and that's just to take one final!!!! Then that's it! So I really need to study for that because that is my hard one, Chemistry.

This weekend I will not get much wedding stuff done because Saturday is my cousin's wedding and Sunday is my MOH's baby shower. Tomorrow I plan to make a dentist appointment, which I am 6 months past my due date for that, and make my make-up appointment for the wedding day. I also need to go tan. Last week I bought a month's package and only have used it once so far. A lot of good that is going to do. And I also need to take my dress to be pressed and cleaned.

Tomorrow evening we are going to the mall to buy Justin's groomesmen gifts at Things Remembered and to see The Nativity Story. I really want to see that soooo bad! I also want to drop my ring off at the jeweler while we are there to have it cleaned and to have my wedding band attached. I have a cz that I can wear around until the wedding.

SO CLOSE! Sounds like you are pretty much all ready! What are you getting your groomsmen?

We are getting them beer mugs with their names or initials engraved. We also have to find something for the two ringbearers. I think we are just going to get them a toy or something.

I got my appointments made already today. I didn't get the make-up appointment where I wanted to get it done because they already had a wedding for that morning, but I got it at another place. The only appointments I have left are my nail appointments, but there are like a million nail salons around here. Most of the time you can just walk in, but I will probably make an appointment a week out or so.

The flowergirl dresses are complete. My cousin is getting married tomorrow and my aunt is going to bring the dresses to show me. I can't wait to see them!

We got Justin's groomsmen/usher gifts purchased. They didn't have all the beer mugs there so they have to be ordered. The lady told us they would be in by the 22nd so I hope she's right. What is really cool is that they were buy, get one half off. So anyway we ended up getting 8 beer mugs and the engraving for $180.

As you can see the guest count just went up a bunch today. Some got sent in by the mail and Justin did some phone calls. I also saw some of the people at my cousin's wedding and asked them there. As I type I am printing out our spreadsheet and I am going to make a list and start calling the rest of the people who have not responded. I only have a few more days before I have to turn in my final guest count. Of that number I have seperate the children so I can get charged half price for them.

I enjoyed my cousins wedding. It wasn't really something that I could examine because it was very far from what I am doing. It was very rustic and very western. It was really cute and fit her perfectly!!!! She even wore her cowboy boots and her spurs!!!! LOL! It was nice, but we are on opposite ends of the wedding spectrum! I forgot my camera so we stopped and bought a disposable one. When I get them developed I can post some pics.

I finally got my count for the rehearsal and I am going to call Justin's mom here in a few minutes. It is 36 adults and 6 children. We also did a verbal invitation to the people at church for the wedding and we have 12 more people coming from that. I have not put them in my guest count under my ticker.

I'm feeling a little stress today trying to get everything in line and tomorrow is my last final exam at school. Today I am going to go tan and then I am going to hit the books most of the day.

Mostly right now I am trying to wrap up trying to contact some of the people who have not responded who I think may come. After tomorrow I will be working very hard on the wedding because school will be over! It seems like a large portion of those who have not responded are Justin's family who I didn't want to invite in the first place because they wanted to invite all these distant people. We were looking at the guest list last night and he asked me who this one couple was and I didn't know. It was from his family and he didn't know either! That is ridiculous to want to invite people that neither one of us even know.

Yesterday I dropped my dress off to be pressed and spot cleaned. They will have it ready on the 27th. My ring is at the jeweler to be cleaned, inspected, and to have the wedding band attached. The groomsmen gifts are ordered and will be here on the 22nd. The personalized m&ms should be here I think on the 20th. Justin's mom just talked to the cake lady last night about Justin's cake.

Things I have to do:

marriage license
tie bird seed bags
tie m&m favor bags
work on programs
finish flower girl head pieces
give guest count to resort
ring bearer gifts
exchange flower girl gift and get new one
make nail appointment

I think that's all!

Your invited guests who didn't respond...how rude! Are you able to give the list of people that you don't know to Justin's mom and have her call them? I guess the guest list at the door of the resort will be a great help huh?

You have things under such great control! I'm excited to see how your wedding turns out!!

Justin's parents are divorced and most of those people are from his dad's side. There were only 3 that didn't respond from his mom's side. She is calling them for me. Justin's dad, who has been very unhelpful through this whole process, is refusing to call the people. I have a few from my side that didn't respond and I have left messages and e-mailed them. I think they probably are not going to come and are avoiding the topic or something.

I got my bridal portrait pictures in and they are great! I absolutely love them! I can't wait to see what my photographer does at the wedding. I am having trouble loading them onto photobucket. When I get that accomplished I will surely post them. It took my mom and I a couple of hours to decide on the one that will be framed in the large frame that will be displayed at the wedding. The place we took them at was breath taking!

Justin's dad, who has been very unhelpful through this whole process, is refusing to call the people.

If his dad is refusing to call, then I'd just assume that they're not coming and mark them as a "No" and make sure someone is checking the list as people are entering the reception. He invited them, he should follow up with them. But, I can be a b*itch like that sometimes :)

I can't WAIT to see your bridal portraits!!!!! I'm having difficulty with photobucket today too.

Sounds like everything is coming together.
That's too bad about the guest list issues. I never could understand why people don't respond. Your FFIL should call those people on his list, he wanted them to get an invitation right? If he won't then I would add them to the no's and don't worry about it.

I have to say it again, your bridal portraits are beautiful!

Kacie_bride
12-13-2006, 02:19 PM
I have officially marked all the people who have not responded as not coming and I am ready to turn my final guest count in tomorrow. I am just going to wait for the mail to come into today in case there are any last minute takers and then that's it. Nobody who didn't respond or contact me after I tried to get a hold of them is really that important to me anyway. Most of my family will be there except like one cousin and one aunt and all of my close friends will be there!!! Yipee!

For any of you wondering, my bridal portraits are in the wedding photos section. I think most of you have probably seen them by now though! I am loading some more now and there will be some more today!

12-14-2006, 02:16 PM
Yes we've got the count turned it. Tomorrow we have to drive the check down there for the rest of the food. There goes another $2,000!!!! I also want to check and make sure Justin's mom turned in the guest count for the rehearsal dinner while we're there. Bless her heart, but sometimes she can be a procrastinator. We actually had to pay the deposit for the rehearsal because she didn't do it in time. We were risking loosing the reservation. She paid my mom back really quickly and I think she was emberrassed by it. So I'm hoping she turned it in and already got the final cost for it so she can figure out how much Justin's dad owes because he has been asking about it forever now.

Today I plan on working on my programs just as soon as I get off of here. Then I need to get the house cleaned. It has gotten absolutely horrible because I've been really tied up with the wedding and school stuff. I also have the kids gifts for the rehearsal dinner to wrap. Justin was really sweet. He called me today and asked about how many kids would be at the rehearsal. There are 6. 4 kids are in the wedding and the other 2 are siblings. He said we should get gifts for the other 2 because he doesn't want them to feel left out. I thought that was wonderful that he thought of that because it had not even crossed my mind. So the boys are all getting toy tractors (John Deere of course) and the flower girls are getting necklaces to wear at the wedding and the little sister is getting a baby doll.

I'm so excited that you were able to send in your final count already! It just keeps creeping closer! And I know that after your wedding, mine isn't far away - I have so much I need to get done! Your bridal portraits were absolutely STUNNING! I'm also having mine done in a botanical garden, so it was interesting to see how yours looked. I can't believe your time is almost here... it seems like such a crazy trip we've been on this year, planning weddings simultaneously and everything. I can't wait to see your wedding pics! :)

This weekend was very busy and it is not even over yet! I am waiting to get a cake out of the oven and then it has to cool and we are going over to Justin's grandmother's to do Christmas with her.

Yesterday morning was my graduation!!!! I officially have a bachelor of science in animal science and speech communication. Then we went out to eat lunch. We had seafood and the drinks were flowing!!!! The only thing that pissed me off about the graduation was Justin's dad. When we were walking out of the coliseum he yelled very loudly "It's about time!" I know he just meant it as a joke, but that's a sore spot for me. I went to school in 2000, dropped out, and then came back. So yes it took me longer than most people, but I did it and graduated with honors.

Anyway then we came home and we went to Justin's office Christmas dinner. We didn't eat much because we were both still very full. We just had queso and chips and more drinks.

Next week it's back to full fledge wedding prep after the weekend break. I am working on printing the programs, we need to get our marriage license, I need to go to Things Remembered and pick up the groomsmen gifts because they called to say they are in, I need to switch my car title into my name, and other stuff. I don't have anything else to do all week but work on wedding stuff and I'll probably start browsing for a job.

Justin's mom did turn in the stuff for the rehearsal, but I have to call her and tell her to add one more. My aunt e-mailed me today and asked if she could come. Her daughter (my cousin) is the mother of one of the flower girls. She said she would feel more comfortable if she didn't have to drive home by herself at night. I told her that was fine, but that did irritate me. The rehearsal is at 6:30 and her drive will be maybe an hour home. I'm sure we'll be finished with the rehearsal and the dinner by 9 at least. I think it's ridiculous if a grown person cannot drive an hour home at night. I guess I am just so used to driving by myself at night that I think everyone should or something.

Anyway, enough of complaining! I picked up the groomsmen gifts tdoay! They are great! Justin really likes them. I am also working on the programs still. I print some and fold some, print some and fold some. It's a long process, but I'm getting there!

Yes it is almost time!!!!! Trust me, the time will creep on you. This whole year went by amazingly fast. I can't believe I've been planning that long. It will be spring time before we know it and there are so many weddings I am looking forward to hearing about.

My programs are now done. Yipee!! Those were a huge pain.

Right now I have started to browse for jobs. I applied as an instructional aide at an intermediate school and I am also going to send in an application for another aide position at an elementary school. I have a degree now, but my certification for teaching is not going to be complete until July. That means in June I have to go to classes again, but not that much. It is just an alternative certification program. As soon as I get my acceptance from them I will apply for teaching jobs for next school year. Right now I am hoping to find an aide position or even a clerical position in the office for the school, but I do not want to substitute teach again.

9 days to go!!!!! I'm in the single digits now! Very exciting!

Anyway, I watched the weather last night and a small cold front is coming in! Thank goodness. It's been way to warm around here. On Christmas and at least through Tuesday the lows will be in the 30s and highs in the 50s. Hopefully it'll stay like that or a little cooler on until next Saturday for the wedding. It may look a little funny to have a winter wonderland wedding when it is 70 degrees!! LOL! It'll still be just wonderful if it is though.

Now I am just killing time waiting to go tan. They don't open until 10. It's pretty weird tanning this time of year. There is no wait at the tanning bed. I am probably the only one even going right now. After that I will come home and take a shower and then I'm off to the mall! I need to buy some lingerie for the honeymoon!!!! I'm using my graduation money!!!!

Today was CRAZY!!! First thing we went to florist to pay the rest of the money for the flowers and we also had to add some things to our order. We added roses for the cake and two little corsages with sweetheart roses for the two little girls who are lighting the candles. We thought that would make them feel special to also wear a corsage. We also had to drop the cake topper and snowflakes for the cake off there. The cake lady's sister in law is the florist.

We had lunch at this really great soup and sandwhich shop and then it was off to the mall. Here's where the craziness began. OMG there were so many people. I worked at that mall for 2 1/2 years before I moved in with Justin and I had never seen it that crazy. I don't know what the deal is this year. I was able to finish up Christmas shopping finally and find a pair of jeans on sale. We also had to buy some white M&Ms to mix with our red personalized ones that came UPS yesterday. Then it was off to Lowe's to get some supplies to decorate with. Then we had to go to grocery store which was also a zoo.

After the all day ordeal mother and I fixed spaghetti and started on tying bird seed bags. We tied them with white ribbon and red tulle circles. They are really pretty. The favor bags with the red and white M&Ms will be in white tulle with red ribbon and a little red flower. Mom tied one to see what it would look like and it was really pretty.

Now I am exhausted and I am going to be getting to bed soon. Justin is at a Christmas party at one of our friend's, but I am tired and I have enough stuff to do tomorrow that I just couldn't bring myself to go.

I cannot keep it straight right now. I have a pile of stuff in my extra bedroom that I plan to take with us to Jamaica. I am hoping to get new luggage for Christmas from Justin's mom so I haven't packed it in hopes that we get it. Last night I picked up the office some. I need to do some serious laundry. Today I am not really excited. For some reason December 26th is probably my least favorite day of the year. It is depressing for me. I just always hate the fact that Christmas is over. The good thing is that I have lots of little things left to do to occupy me. I'm sure after I go to sleep and wake up to a new day I will feel lots better.

I already took down my decorations. I usually do not take them down so soon, but with the wedding coming up so quickly I needed to get it done. I have people coming in on Thursday and I need the house cleaned.

I just need some sleep and tomorrow (actually today however you want to look at it) will be so much better!!!!

This was the first time I have ever taken down my stuff so soon. Usually I keep up it until after New Years. My house looks like a bomb exploded because I haven't gotten it all put up. I assume I'll end up staying up pretty late tonight working on it. I also have clothes strung out everywhere for the honeymoon and just some laundry that I haven't been able to fold. Then the floor needs sweeping and mopping pretty bad. It rained over Christmas and we do not have a paved driveway or walkway so between us and the dogs dirt gets tracked in.

Today was super busy. I worked on the house for a bit and then we had some errands to run in town. We (mom and I) started putting the lights on the trees for the wedding. We also spent 3 hours finishing the favors, but they are done and ready to go. We got all the white fabric for the stage area that is going to be a winter scene cut and labeled so we know exactly what wall area it goes on. Justin picked up his tux this afternoon. It fit perfectly he said. This evening I got one suitcase packed and most of the ironing done.

Tomorrow will be just as busy. Thank goodness my mom took this week off of work to help me out! First thing I have to go to the bank and deposit a couple of checks, then go pay the Verizon bill, go pick up my dress, buy some more twisty ties for the lights on the trees, finish the trees, and some more stuff is on mom's list I know.

I will probably not be on here that much during the day, but I'll definately keep everyone updated by tomorrow night.

Thank you everyone! This morning I got to sleep late!!! I'm still in my jammmies actually. I plan to play on here a little while and then get to cleaning starting at 10:00. (The View comes on at 10 and I haven't seen it in forever. I like to clean and watch TV at the same time.)

Last night I had weird wedding dreams, but it's just nerves setting in! I can't believe it's almost here! One year of planning is almost over! Tomorrow is the rehearsal!!!! Yipee!!!!!

It looks like the house will not get totally cleaned. OH well. We had a minor set back today because this morning my mom was going to Wal-Mart and the windows were fogged. She rolled down the windows and the passenger side one would not go back up. So we had to call around and find a dealership that could fix it today. I have a car and tomorrow we have to go pick up the rental stuff and candleabras and columns would not fit in my car. We had to take it and we ran errands while it was being fixed, but did not even get half of what we had planned to done. They finally got it fixed after $450 worth of work.

Anyway I am finally all packed!!! When I get off of here I am going to sweep the floor, feed the cats, and got to bed. I'm so tired! Tomorrow is the rehearsal at 6:30. The resort said we can start bringing our stuff up there at 3:00. My brother is dropping my dog off at the dog bording place. I'm so sad she has to go there. :( My poor little puppy. She can't stay with my parents because she jumps the fence or that wouldn't be a problem. But I think we have everything ready or ready as it will be anyway!

I hope I get to check in tomorrow with you guys, but I don't know if I'll have the time! Thanks for the support and if I don't get on tomorrow I will catch you next Friday!!!!

Well it's all over and I'm back. I had a wonderful wedding and a wonderful honeymoon. If anyone is deciding where to go I would highly reccomend Jamiaca or any Sandals resort! It was wonderful! The service, the food, the drinks, the entertainment, the people, etc. It was just amazing. I will put some pictures and details up after I get some sleep. It will be nice to lay in my own bed!!!

Thanks for the welcome back!!!! Today has kind of been hectic. I just got back from Wal-Mart. I had to get some of the pics that were taken with the underwater disposable camera from the honeymoon developed. I am working on my pictures from the wedding as I type. They will be up in the photo section shortly. I will also be starting my after wedding journal soon.

The pictures are in the wedding photo section. I have a page for the honeymoon and one for the wedding. I am still adding pictures slowly to each of them. I'm sure it'll be a few days before it's complete. Then there is also the professional ones which I hope I get back soon.
