Here is what it basically looks like. My lettering is inside in red and written on vellum. The snowflake shimmers and is glittery. The little bow sparkles.
My response card has red print and the envelope is also lined in red.

Another piece of news that I find exciting-Justin has finally, finally, finally selected the last of his attendants! Awhile back he had selected his groomesman and one of the ushers. He still had one usher left, but now that is settled. He has not asked him yet, but I see no reason why this guy would not accept. He is the best man's younger brother.

Also Justin had selected the 2 ring bearers, but had only asked one set of the parents. He finally asked the other boy's parents. So now that is done as well. We have a full wedding party!

Congrats on getting the bridal party done. It took Steve quite a while to pick and ask all of his too. He just finished last month. Of course, he still has to find someone to run the sound system at the church.....
Sounds like your on a roll this month when it comes to getting things done. Good job!

I had my first go round with wedding nightmares last night. I dreamed that first of all the DJ did not show up. The only thing they could find to play for me going down the aisle was Amazing Grace. The guys did not have tuxedos on. One was wearing a blue shirt. Some of them had one ties, some did not. My girls were wearing this red prom dress looking thing with sequins. They hair their hair up in these huge bows. There were no decorations and people were laughing at me. It was a really bad dream!

Kacie,
I must have had at least one wedding nightmare a month leading up to mine. I know that panicky just woke up wondering what the hell happened feeling. I'm sorry. But, the good news was it was just a drea. At least in yours the church wasn't decorated with saftey cone orange pinecones. And the bridesmiads were at least in your color scheme not in horrible shades of green polyester. The good news is that you aren't alone. Oddly enough though, I have had a couple after the wedding too. But so did one of my bms and moh. Just laugh it off babe!

Thanks everyone. I know it is just stress and I am going to laugh it off. I was thinking about it before I fell asleep so I know this is probably why. I keep thinking that I am going to start school next week and we still have so much left to do and I still have one bm who has not gone to get fitted for her dress. She says she is going to do that tomorrow. Hopefully she will.

I am going to make trees like these. I am going to use dried branches, spray paint them white with glistening stuff in it. I am also going to wind lights around them.

The first pic is a La Te Da fragrance lamp. That is going on the sign in table. We are going to use the scent Snowberry.

The second pic is the starting of what will be on the arch. The flowers we are using are red roses and white callas. Unfortunately we cannot afford to have all fresh flowers. We are going to do the arch decorations in silk, but the rest of the flowers will all be real.

I took a couple of more pictures this morning. They are not very good, but here they are anyway. The first picture is of my centerpiece, candle sticks for the cake table, and the vase that will go on the sign in table. The centerpiece will have real pine branches around it with red ribbon and spray on glistening. The crystal candle sticks will have red tapers. The vase will have a dozen fresh red roses.

The second pic is of my cake serving set. Mom found those at Palais Royal on sale for only $9.

Yesterday I took my dress to the seamstress. I need the halter part taken up some and I also am having a bustle put on it. It is going to cost $40. I don't think that is bad. My mom has used her before for things. She said she does a really good job and she was really really nice.

Other than that I have been working on planning my reception. I need to have most of the details done by October because that is when I have a meeting with the DJ to go over things. He has a planning site and then you meet with him again to discuss details and he gives you suggestions.

I had said that I wanted our first dance to be Elvis's Can't Help Falling in Love With You, but I have changed. Ellen first introduced me to this song. I heard it on the radio not long after she said she may use this song. It is new and the cd is not released until September 25. It is called Like Red on a Rose by Alan Jackson. It is a beautiful song, absolutely beautiful. Below are the lyrics.

Like red on a rose
When your lips first smiled at me
I was captured instantly
To each his own

Like blue in the sky
The gaze of your willing eyes
Touched something deep inside
The truth be known

That I love you like all little children love pennies
And I love you ‘cause I know that I can’t do anything wrong
You’re where I belong
Like red on a rose

And I love you like all little children love pennies
And I love you like good times of which I’ve known many
And I love you ‘cause I know you give me a heart of my own
You make my blood flow
Like red on a rose

Here is a list of some of my song requests so far:

Nashville Blues-Cory Morrow
Shout-Isley Brothers
Hey Ya-Outkast
Carry On-Pat Green
The Road Goes on Forever-Robert Earl Keen
Forever and Always-Shania Twain

Here is how the days events are looking so far:

3:30-arrival of bridal party
4:00-preceremony pics
5:00-arrival of guests
5:30-ceremony
6:00-postceremony pics
6:15-introductions
6:20-blessing
6:25-dinner
7:25-first dance
7:30-mother/son, father/daughter dance
8:00-toast
8:05-cake cutting
8:15-garter/bouquet toss
10:15-last dance
10:30-formal exit

I don't know what I want to do yet for introduction music. I would like it to just be musical. I'm not sure what to do. For the garter toss I am thinking of Wild Thing and for the bouquet toss I am thinking of using Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. I am going to have the mother/son dance and father/daughter dance at the same time. I think we are going to use I Hope You Dance by Leanne Womac.

The Ceremony

1. The bride, groom, and weddpping party stand in front of minister.

Pastor: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

congregation: And also with you

Pastor: Let us pray.

Eternal God, our creator and redeemer, as you gladdened the wedding at Cana in Galilee by the presence of your Son, so by his presence now bring your joy to this wedding. Look in favor upon Justin and Kacie and grand that they, rejoicing in all your gifts, may at lenght celebrate with Christ the marriage feast which has no end. Amen.

Reading from Bible from my cousin:

1 Corinthians 13

If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 13:2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 13:3 If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, F65 (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?word=1+Corinthians+13%3A1-13&section=0&version=nrs&new=1&oq=I+Corinthians+13%3A1-13#F65) but do not have love, I gain nothing. 13:4 Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant 13:5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 13:6 it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. 13:7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 13:8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. 13:9 For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; 13:10 but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. 13:12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, F66 (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?word=1+Corinthians+13%3A1-13&section=0&version=nrs&new=1&oq=I+Corinthians+13%3A1-13#F66) but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13:13 And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love. Pastor: The Lord God in his goodness created us male and female, and by the gift of marriage founded human community in a joy that begins now and si brought to perfection in the life to come.

Because of sin, our age-old rebellion, the gladness of marraige can be overcast and the gift of the family can become a burden.

But because of God, who established mariage, continues still to bless it with his abundant and ever-present support, we can be sustained in our weariness and have our joy restored.

Kacie and Justin, if it is your intention to share with each other your joys and sorrows and all that the years will bring, with your promises bind yourselves to each other as husband and wife.

I take you, Kacie/Justin
to be bmy wifee from this day forwards,
to join with you and share all that is to come,
and I promise to be faithful to you
until death parts us
I give you things ring as a sing of my love and faithfulness.

Pastor: Kacie and Justin, by their promises before God and in the prsence of this congregation , have found thmselves to one another as husband and wife:

(light unity candle)

Pastor: Those whom God has joined together let no one put asunder. The Lord God, who created our parents and established them in marraige, establish and sustain you, that you may find delight in each other and grow in holy love until your life's end.

Let us bless God for all the gifts in which we rejoice today.

Lord God, constant in mercy, great in faithfulness: With high praise we crecall your acts of unfailing love for the human family, for the houe of Israel, and for your people the Church.

We bless y ou for the joy which your servants, Kacie and Justin, have found in each other, and pray hat you give to sus such a sense of your constant lvoe that we may employ all our strength in a life or praise of you, whose work alone holds true and endures forever. Amen.

Let us pray for Kacie and Justin in their life together.

Faithful Lord, source of love, pour down your grace upon Kacie and Justin, that they may fulfill the vows they have made this day and reflect your steadfast love in their life-long faithfulness to each other. As members with them of the body of Christ, use us to suppor their life together; and from your great store of strenght give them power and paitience, afflection and understanding, coruage, and lovew toward you, toward each other, and toward the world, that they may continue together in mutual growth acording to your will in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let us pray for all families throughout the world.

Gracious Father, you bless the family and renew your people. Enrich husband wand wives, parents and children more ore more with your grace, that, strengthening and supporting each other, they may serve those in need and bea sgin of the fulfillment of your perfect kindgom, where, with yoru Son Jessu Christ and the Holy Spirit, you lie and reign, one God through all ages or ages. Amen.

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be they name,
thy kindgom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation.
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
forever and ever. Amen.

Almight Bod, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, keep you in his light and trush and love now and forever. Amen.

This weekend we did get a few wedding things done. First of all we found this fabric at Wal-Mart that had snowflakes on it. It is beautiful. I don't know what type it is, but it is like tule, but a bit thicker. Mom thought of the idea of having the book table and the cake table with red table clothes and use the snowflake fabric like a runner. Then we will attach these beautiful silver snowflakes we found at Hobby Lobby to the sides of the table.

We also bought the arch at Michael's. It is an 8 ft. lighted arch. Later I will proably put a pic up of what we started with. We are going to add tule and of course the callas and roses. Also at the front there will be two candleabras and the unity candle stand. We are going to rent those from Hobby Lobby.

I am getting pretty irritated with my site coordinator. She is awfully forgetfull. I am always irritated with Justin's mom. She and his dad are doing the rehearsal dinner. The site coordinator was supposed to fax the contract for the rehearsal dinner to his mother. She has not done that yet. We asked her to do this in May. Then my mother called twice to remind her. For some reason Justin's mom thinks she cannot call. Today I left a phone message and an e-mail to the site coordinator. I just want to get that done.

Wedding plans have been at a stand still lately. That is getting on my nerves. We have so much left to do. We have not had the time to get it done. It is very fustrateing. The only thing I have worked on is collecting addresses. I have been working pretty hard at that.

This weekend I have plans to do some stuff for the wedding. Saturday I am going with my cousins who are the mothers of my flowergirls to pick out the pattern and buy the fabric. I'm sure my aunt will want to start on them soon. She wants to buy some cheap fabric and make a practice dress first. Then she will make the real thing.

I also want to get the last of the addresses together for my first bridal shower. My MOH has been asking for the address list.

I would also like to go pick out tuxes. Justin may or may not want to go do this now. It irritates me that he thinks we have so much time left. We only have 3 1/2 months and I have so much to do. Sometimes I don't think he understand what kind of effort I have put into this wedding.

You're not alone there. I really don't think they have any idea how finicky the details of wedding planning can get. (Next time we plan anything that requires invitations, I'm going to make him gather the addresses!)

Have you tried asking him to take care of anything? Sometimes walking in your shoes for a bit really helps their perspective. Jonathan didn't understand why I couldn't make a decision about my ring until I dragged him into a jewelry store. He really struggled over the decision with me and later on confessed that he understood a little better why it upset me so much. :)

I will have to wait until Sunday to try it on because mom is going out of town and I can't get it on without help! If it does not fit right the seamstress said it would be no problem to fix.

Today I picked out my flower girl pattern. We purchased them and also got the fabric!!! Here is a pic. It is Vogue 7681.
http://img.sewingtoday.com/cat/20000/itm_img/V7681.jpg

It is going to be floor length. The fabric will be white satin. The skirt will have white tulle overlayed. The tulle we picked out has a few crystals on it here and there. I had already purchased the red bow to go around their waists. This is a pic of the bow that will be around their waists except theirs will be red.

This weekend we have plans to get several things done. One thing we have to do is go to the fabric store. We have decided to do clothe runners on every table. That is 35 banquet style tables! We are estimating that this will end up costing a little over $100. We are going to make them ourselves. I am happier that we are doing it this way. We are having plastic table clothes, so it will at least dress them up more. The thing I really like is my snowflake table sprinkles will show up really well on a red runner!!!

I was just looking at the snowflakes, and you're right, they will be absolutely beautiful on a red tablcloth! Good luck with your runners!

Yesterday we accomplished several things. We went all over Houston to some of the fabric stores. I found that my shade of red is very hard to match. We got one that was pretty close that I just happened to see out of the corner of my eye before we left the last fabric store. It was bought in bulk so it was wrapped up. So we bought 50 yards of red satin cloth. That is for table runners and 2 table cloths. We also bought lots and lots of tulle.

Then we also had to go to Macy's and register for a few more things just to keep Justin's mother quiet. It still irritates me, but I did it.

Well my stress level is pretty elevated. This morning on the way to school I had a flat tire, so I missed my first class. Justin came and changed it, but it is totally ruined. So I wouldn't miss more class I went to school on the donut. I don't get out until 3. I'll go get it replaced then, but now that means that I will have to miss my chemistry tutoring session today. Oh well. Just one more thing to worry about.

Anyway I am almost finished with my portion of the addresses. I have decided that if Justin's parents don't get me their side of the addresses completely that they can just not be invited. I am not going to press them to get me the addresses anymore. It is getting ridiculous. I don't even know these people and Justin hardly does, so why do I care? It is his parents that want them there anyway, not us.

This weekend is a big wedding weekend!!!

On Saturday at noon we have a meeting with a potential florist. I hope it is the florist we are using since the one we had orginally booked went out of business. That is why we are doing this now.

The next thing I want to do is talk to some sylists about making appointments for hair and make-up. I have to make the appointments for all fo the bm except one. I also want to do a trial run and I think that will be the day I do my bridal portriat which I need to schedule soon!

Anyway, here are some hair styles I like. I defiantely want an updo! I love updos. They are very elegant. I also don't want it to be too fancy.

This is hard to see, but I like it.

http://www.ljstyles.com/updos/bridehair.jpg

This is kind of along the same lines.

Maybe something a little more fun for the BMs. Here are some ideas for them.

This weekend was not as good as I had hoped. First of all we went to the florist. She is going to be much more expensive than our orginal florist. We don't have an exact price quote yet. She is going to get back with us by Wednesday. We are also going to go get another quote from another florist to be sure.

The really awful thing that happened was when I went to go get my hair done. My hair was down to the middle of my back. So I wanted an inch taken off to trim and some long layers put in it for some style. My hair got butchered!!!! I was mortified! She took off way more than an inch and it looked like a child got after me with a pair of scissors. So I went to another shop to get it fixed. Now it is only shoulder length and it still is not 100%. She told me if I got it totally fixed it would only be about to my chin. I want a updo for my wedding so I couldn't get it cut that much. She said to come back in about 6 weeks and she can even it up some more once it grows a little bit. Needless to say I don't think I will be getting the updo that I really wanted now. I really liked the lady that fixed it for me and she was telling me some options that I have still for updos by December. I think I am going to book her to do my hair for the wedding. She also said she could reccommend some other people at the shop to do my bms.

Other than that we didn't get to much done. I got an outfit to wear to my shower. That is always fun. That hair chop job just really put a damper on everything.

:bbeek: :bbeek: omg I am so sorry about your hair! I have a hair complex. I usually let it grow at long as I can stand (waist length or so) then chop it all off (chin length). I always got my hair butchered at salons..you know the only place I've ever gotten a decent haircut..GreatClips..seriously, it surprises me too! I am growing my hair out for an updo as well, i'm scared to get it cut. I hope yours works in your updo!

Hey Kacie!!

That totally sucks about your hair cut but I have a suggestion. Take folic acid!!! Just one miligram or two a day!! Ever since I started taking it (Trying to concieve) my hair AND finger nails have grown so fast I can hardly keep up with them both. Perhaps this can help in your situation as well!!! I sure hope it does. And hey even if it doesn't at least you tried it and it's not too expensive!! Good luck!

Kacie I am so sorry she butchered your hair. Is it possible for the new hair dresser to place extensions in your hair for the updo? This is just a thought but you could still have it your way and up. Vitamin E is also good to take for hair and nails as well.

This is from I Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, F65 (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?word=1+Corinthians+13%3A1-13&section=0&version=nrs&new=1&oq=I+Corinthians+13%3A1-13#F65) but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, F66 (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?word=1+Corinthians+13%3A1-13&section=0&version=nrs&new=1&oq=I+Corinthians+13%3A1-13#F66) but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
This is from Ephesians 3

3:14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, F19 (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?word=Ephesians+3%3A14-19&section=0&version=nrs&new=1&oq=I+Corinthians+13#F19) 3:15 from whom every family F20 (http://bible.crosswalk.com/OnlineStudyBible/bible.cgi?word=Ephesians+3%3A14-19&section=0&version=nrs&new=1&oq=I+Corinthians+13#F20) in heaven and on earth takes its name. 3:16 I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, 3:17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. 3:18 I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 3:19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
I am thinking of asking two of my cousins to do these readings. I think they are both beautiful and I really want to focus on the fact that my wedding is a religious event to me. Yes we are having our pastor do the ceremony, but sometimes even weddings in churches aren't really what I would call religous. That is fine for some people, but I want a religous ceremony. The only reason it is not in our church is because the church is too small!

tHAT IS THE READING WE USED ALSO.

Oh, I don't know all these people. For some reason Justin's dad thinks he has to invite all the 2nd cousins and 2nd aunts and people Justin hasn't seen in 10 years! If I had to do it all over again I would have done what they suggest. I would take the number we wanted and split it 4 equal ways. Then we would cross off any duplicates. Justin's dad would have a set number, we would have a set number, his mother would have a set number, and my parents would have a set number. It would all be equal.

What really ticks me off is that his dad is complaining about the cost of the rehearsal dinner, but he can invite all these people that Justin will probably not even recognize! His cost for the rehearsal is only $400. Since his parent's are divorced they are splitting it. The total cost is going to be $800. Of coarse this is an approximate right now because we don't have the total list of people coming to the rehearsal yet.

I think if you feel the need to cut people, you need to. The more the list grows, the more expensive its going to be. If you are on a budget, his dad needs to realize that unless he wants to pick up the extra cost.

We ran into the same problem. My dad wants to invite not only all his 2nd cousins but all his friends too. Some of his friends even booked rooms and they haven't even been officially invited yet.
We're not only on a budget but we can only have so many people there. He kept adding more people until I finally said enough! The more he has to invite the less I can and I want people there that are my friends too and not just family.

Good luck! I feel your pain girl! :)

We can't really cut these people now. They've already been told they are going to be invited. Our invitations go out in about 3 weeks.

We picked up a few wedding things this weekend at Garden Ridge. Nothing really big. We just got some pots for the trees, some paint for the pots, and some more glitter stuff. We really need to actually work on putting the stuff we have bought together. At mom's house my old bedroom has become the wedding room. It is filled with all my wedding stuff. And my arch is just sitting in a corner in the living room.

I have delivered all the bm's dresses except one. I still have my MOH's dress in my closet. That's not that big of a deal because she can't get it altered yet anyway because she's pregnant. One of my bms owes me the money for the dress still. I fronted it and she still has not paid me back. That was back in August. I guess I need to start bugging her about it some more.

The only big thing we have left to do is find someone to make my cake. We have several numbers of people to call. We just haven't done it yet.

I looked at my registry today. Nobody has bought me anything off it. My invitations for my showers went out. The ones for the shower thrown my MOH just went into the mail yesterday so people should be getting them on Monday. The other ones came last week. I know most people are probably last minute shoppers. I know I am.

Of coarse this is an approximate right now because we don't have the total list of people coming to the rehearsal yet.

haha see, in my relationship my family is the one inviting allll of the family. Matt doesn't talk to like all of his extended family like mine does, such as my great aunt and uncle, and my 2nd cousins by marriage haha. Your rehearsal dinner will be cheap, how many people are coming to it? We have like almost 50 coming to ours haha

We will have around 40 or so people at our rehearsal dinner. It will be about $20/person, so approxiametly $800.

Yeah, what is funny is that I just finished getting all of my other stuff out of there. I haven't lived there in 3 years and I still had stuff in there. So I finally got it out, and then I got engaged. No my stuff occupies the room again. Who knows what she'll do with the space after the wedding!

Same here. I didn't live there for 4 years. My mom has her treadmill in there. So she's been starting to call it the treadmill room. But we still know its the wedding room. At least until we move.

Well I have a lot going on. On Friday we had a meeting with the dj. I'm almost finished with all the stuff for that. I have to get my final selections and submit them to him pretty soon. Most things with that are figured out. We also had a meeting with the new florist. We put down the deposit, so that is taken care of.

Justin still has about 20 addresses from his side that he has to get. We are really getting down to the wire with the addresses. The invite need to go out in about 2 weeks. We haven't even started addressing them yet. Keep in mind we have 300 or so guests, so that's a lot of invitations.

I need to work on a map/direction card for the invites. I also need to get my bachelorette party guest list to my BM who is coordinating that. I also need to start working on my programs.

Next weekend we are going to start looking for a dress for my mother. I also still need to find jewelry, flower girl gifts, and ring bearer gifts. Justin has not gotten his GM gifts yet, but he said that he wants to get them beer mugs. I got a catalogue in the mail from Things Remembered and they have a nice one. They are $20 a piece and he has 5 GM and 3 ushers. That would get kinda pricey. They also have shot glasses that they can have their initials on for only $10 a piece. That might be better. I'll have to talk to him about it.

I am really wondering about my shower. I just talked to my MOH who is hosting the shower and she said nobody RSVPed. It is next weekend. She said not to worry because nobody RSVPs to showers. That is news to me anyway. I keep playing a scene through my mind that nobody shows up to my shower. The only good thing would be I would have a lot of cake for myself.

I have another shower on the 11th and I know more people will come to that because that is the family shower. I am having two because the one next weekend is for the local people. My family all lives near or very close to the Houston area so we are having another one in Houston. The shower next weekend (the 4th) is in Dayton.

I just hope somebody comes. I will feel bad asking people if they are going to come or not. That seems rude to me, but I don't know.

This weekend is going to be a busy one. This afternoon I sat with my mom as she was sewing my table runners. We only have one sewing machine and I can't sew, so I was mostly moral help. I did assist in cutting and measuring. They look really nice. The fabric is red to match the bm dresses and looks like satin. I'm not sure if it is satin or not, but it is darn close. A centerpiece example is below, but they are DYS and will be out of real pine branches. The runners will also have irridecent snowflake table glitter on them.

http://www.800florals.com/img/3430Xsm.jpg (https://www.800florals.com/order.asp?item=3430X) This is the inspiration pic. I don't know if it'll look exactly like this, but I hope close.

2. Flower girl jewelry

3. invitations for the rehearsal dinner

4. start looking for MOB dress

5. reserve rental columns and candleabras from Hobby Lobby

You mean my weekend? :) No, I didn't get everything done. Oh well. We spent most of the day looking for a dress for mom and she didn't find anything she liked. I did get invitations for the rehearsal dinner. We just bought cute paper and I am going to print them myself. This is what they are going to say..

One more thing about the weekend... Of course I have been checking the registry and nobody bought anything this weekend. Hmmm. I have a shower on Saturday. I just would be mortified if I had a shower with 2 people there.

I think a lot of time people forget to tell the cashiers at the stores when they buy something off a registry or they go off on their own and buy what they want. I saw that at a baby shower this weekend.
Don't worry about people not coming to your shower- and if they don't that's THEIR loss!

I just found out that Justin's future step mom will not be coming to the shower. :snide: She said she has a hair appointment. I was pretty upset about that. I wish I could talk to Justin about it now, but he is still out of town and he left his phone here accidently. I should have asked him what hotel he is at. He'll be home tomorrow evening though.

What really eeks me about this is she did the same thing when Justin graduated from college. She said up until the last week or so that she was going to go to the graduation. Then she had some half a$$ed excuse. And then she also didn't show up to his party. I am close to canceling her corsage for the wedding. Heck, she might not even show for that. I don't want for Justin to pay $35 for it and then it not be worn.

My mom said it was probably because she didn't want to be around Justin's mom. The two women have never even met and wouldn't even know each other if they saw one another. And it's not like it is going to be at Justin's mom's house or anything. I can understand being uncomfortable, but if you are going to get invovled with a family you cannot alienate yourself. Justin's mother would be nothing but nice to her anyway. Justin's dad and his step dad get along just fine. This makes me very unhappy! :icon_barbar:

Justin doesn't even call from the hotel phone? About his future step mom, I'd try not to worry as there isn't much you can do about it. That also seems like quite a stretch in terms of relationships. She would be your future, future step mother in law. Yes, 2 futures b/c it sounds like she isn't even married to Justin's father, yet.

How did Justin's parents' divorce occur? Was it really ugly, maybe she is uncomfortable in smaller settings when his mother will be there. The wedding is probably different. I hope you feel better and try not to let someone take away from your happiness. Are you and the FFSMIL even close?

Justin has called, but I talked to him before this. No she is not married to his dad yet. FFSMIL and I have been pretty close or at least as close as I have been with his father. I would say I am closer with his mother mostly because she only lives 30 minutes away.

Justin's parent's divorce was ugly, but it was 11 years ago and FMIL and FFSMIL have never even met. There are no arguments or anything ugly now. The wedding may be different, but like I said she didn't go to Justin's graduation last minute either. His graduation was a pretty big deal to everyone else because he is the first one out of that family to graduate from college. I am going to try not to worry about it, but it still ticks me off.

I'm sorry to hear that Justin's future step mom is acting like this..It's a wedding and all the events leading up to it to the day you walk down the aisle all other things should be set aside when it comes to you walking down the aisle including hair appointments. Hey Kacie, sorry to hear about the issues with the step mom to be.
I suppose I can understand her being uncomfortable but ultimately its your day. If she is joining this family then she should let all that go and be a part of the family. That's too bad that people can be so selfish and only think about themselves.
Try not to let her ruin your day!

You are right and so is everyone else. My mom and his mom wouldn't miss it for the world! I guess it just really floors me because I come from such a different type of family than Justin does. Well, not his whole family, just his Dad's side. My family and his mom's side of his family are all really supportive and like to see each other. I can only think of a couple of events from my whole life from birthday parties, graduations, baptisms, weddings and funerals that most of the family was not able to make. Shoot, my aunt from New Mexico came down when I got confirmed as a child. It just seems really weird to me that his dad's side of the family who all live relatively close to each other don't take the time to visit with each other more often.

Maybe people just didn't buy off of it or didn't tell the people to take it off. We'll see tomorrow. Like you girls all said, there is no use worrying about it. I know for sure my MOH will be there, one BM, my mom, Justin's mom, MOH's mom, Justin's ex-secretary from his old job, and one other friend. One of my other BM made me so mad because I asked her if she was coming and she asked me, "When is it?" I told her it was Saturday and she said she forgot all about it. Thank you everyone. I got ready really early for the shower and now I am sitting here waiting to leave. I am pretty excited. Justin already saw one of my gifts at our roommates mom's house. He says I will like it. I've got my camera and I promise pictures when I get home this evening.

I'm back. I am working on the pictures right now and I'll get them up asap. MY MOH did a very nice job. She put a lot of work into this shower and I am very appreciative. Only 8 people including my mom and Justin's mom, and grandmother came. We invited 37 so that was sort of disapointing. 2 of my BMs never even called me and 3 people who said yesterday they were coming did not come. However, the gifts I received were very nice. I am very greatful to have such wonderful people in my life. Here is what I got:

from my mom: 6 plates and 2 fruit bowls (I really didn't expect anything from her. She has spent so much already.)

Justin's mom: flannel sheets and a cook book

Justin's grandma: crystal cake plate

MOH: serving platter

BM: candle sconces

friend: wall hanging

Best man's mom: wreath and picture frame

Justin's ex secretary: crystal cake platter

I don't know why these pics are scanning funny. It also looks like there are 2 hairs that got into my scanner or something. I have cleaned the top of it off, but I don't know what is up with it. I'll take the rest to the school on Monday and scan them there.

Sorry I didn't bring the other picture with me. We have a monsoon going on right now so I kinda forgot. They probably would have gotten all wet anyway. I had to buy another pair of clothes at the book store on campus because I was soaked even with an umbrella.

Stacey I do have a shower next weekend, but it is on Saturday instead of Sunday.

I am so sorry. I have been so busy with school. I have a ton of things going on this week-2 tests, a paper due, 2 pre-lab reports, etc. It has me really stressed. I will try to get some pictures up soon. I will also have some from my shower coming up, so maybe I'll get them all up together. They'll get here eventually.

I have another shower tomorrow! I am so excited about this one. A lot of stuff has gone off of my registry this past week. I will be sure to have pictures tomorrow! I am also excited because I bought a really cute long sleeved shirt to wear awhile back. This whole week the temp. has been unseasonably warm (in the 80's) and I was thinking I was going to have to find something else to wear. Well, a cold front is coming in tonight. Actually it's thundering so it's coming in right now! The high tomorrow is going to be in the 60's!!! Yippee!! I can wear my shirt!

I also got a mystery gift which I posted in another thread. It was some towels from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, but they didn't say who it was from. I am going to have to try to figure that out so I can send a thank you note.

Yesterday night we worked on the invitations. We just got them all assembled. Tonight we start addressing and mom is supposed to working on the maps today. Hopefully we can get a good number of them addressed tonight and then get done tomorrow night. Our RSVP date is Dec. 4th so we need to get it done ASAP. We picked Dec. 4th as our RSVP date because that leaves us one week before our final count has to be in and we figure we will have to be making at least some phone calls.
