I said special packets. We will put together places to eat and things to do, since Cape Cod is a very touristy area. We WANT to do guest baskets, but its a question of money so either way we will at least do the packets.

Like Danielle. I want to do gift baskets, but I don't think I'll be able to because of money. I am going to have information for them on things to do in the area and such. I think the majority of the people that are from out have town have lived here though, so I don't know if that is even necessary.

The only out of town guest i will have are from Japan (one actually moved to Texas.. So..). So my sis is letting them crash at her place so they don't have to pay for anywhere to stay. I will probably take them out to eat if i can afford it... But i am not buying presents or anything... The whole Japanese custom, we'd just end up sending stuff back and forth, LOL. Seriously, last time i got Kumiko something, we sent stuff back and forth for months, as 'thank you' for the last thing.. heh.

So far I can only think of one family from out of town, so I will probably leave them a basket with small things plus info about the area. Nothing extravagant, but a little welcome.

I really want to do baskets with little snacks and stuff, but like the other girls said, it is a matter of money. We will at least do packets though - there are a lot of touristy things to do, and most people that are coming have never been to New England before.

Really, the only OOT people will be my parents, my aunts, and two couples (both of whom USED to live here, still have friends/family here). So I might do something cute for family, but not sure...

The majority of our guests will be coming in from out of town--most of them from the same state but 2-4 hours away, but the rest of them are from SC, PA, VA, MI, NY, and NE.
However, most of them are family who will be using their spare time hanging out with family. Some of the non-family people are participating in the wedding, so they won't have a lot of time for touristy things, and the rest of them can rely on the dining/entertainment/attraction guide we have on our web site. I don't think any of our guests will have a problem with that.
But if money weren't a problem, then yeah, they'd all have baskets or something! :bblol:

Our wedding was a destination wedding, and my hubby and I paid 75% of everyones lodging.
We didn't do anything special for our OOT guests. Most of them were family who come down all of the time anyways. It wasn't a big deal at all. I love the idea of doing bags though. Wish we would have had a reason to!
I would really like to pay for accommodations for most of our out of town guests, but I'm afraid there will be so many of them..... not sure if that will happen. So we might just do gift baskets maybe with a dinner gift card in the basket for while they're here or something.

Being that my fiance and I are from opposite coasts and being that most of our friends are traveling from Florida almost all of our guest will be out of town. To top it off, no one has been to New Orleans before. So I'm doing welcome bags with a New Orleans theme, beads, dabloons, LA hot sauce, pralines, and zapps chips. The "Trashy cajun welcome bags" as we are calling them lol the hot sauce may be a little "down da Bayou" but I think it's a cute idea... Everything that I'm putting in is in-expensive so that's the only reason we are doing it, that plus we are adding tour maps being that we have so many cool things to visit down here.....
