My wedding is five months away and I haven't found my dress yet...is that bad?? Or do I still have time? I guess it depends on wear you go, but I'm thinking I am just going to buy off the rack...
help me...

I would definetly try to get your dress ASAP. You might not need any alterations..if you don't you are better off but if you do or think you will, you need to get on the ball girl!

Definitely get the process started. Even if you purchase off the rack, it is rare alterations are not necessary. Even if they aren't, trains need bustled. Be sure to reserve your time with an alteration specialist ASAP. The summer months fill quickly. Better to reserve now and not need the time, than find out closer to the wedding that everyone is fully booked and either cannot accommodate you or must charge a rush fee for overtime. That only causes more stress for you and your seamstress.

You'll be fine, but just get out there this weekend on a mission and get some work done! Go on a mission!
I actually found my dress in one shopping trip so I may be a little naive!

I think you will be fine, but I would get on it!
Have you tried any on? Have an styles in mind? Know your size? Check EBAY!

I agree with everyone else, you'll be okay but don't waste too much time! Have you browsed around online at all to see what styles you like?

I think you are going to be okay. But get on the ball.
My SIL was engaged for 2 months, so anything is possible to get done in that amount of time. Of course I wouldn't recommend it.

I think you'll be fine, just get yourself shopping. Even if you find a dress that fits perfectly you will still probably need a hem and bustle, so keep that in mind. Good luck and happy shopping!

I agree with the ladies. You should be fine, but don't put if off much longer. You will just end up having to pay rushing fees, or possibly seteling for a dress that might not be your first choice! It will be fine, can't wait to see pictures!

ok. i do know what kind of dress style i like and i'm pretty sure i know my size, but of course, different companies vary slightly. call me old fashioned but i'm a little skeptical of shopping online because things look a little different online than in person...dont they?

they might look a little different but the size is what i would be worried about. i dont even trust buying things off a rack haha. i always say that it looks better on their rack than it does on mine lol. What Im doing is just searching online, finding a style I like then taking it to a place like david's bridal and just handing them the pictures and saying "this is what i want". Plus, talking to a professional, theyre going to be able to tell you what styles work best for your body etc... cause a lot of the dresses I like would never look good on me because Im "full figured" I guess.

There are some good online stores - House of Brides is one and they are pretty reputable
But don't put it off any longer - find your dress.

You need to go look and pick, once you know I think you can buy it on-line!
BUT you better go like TODAY!!!

I agree with all the girls...you are fine right now but I would get a move on. I didnt order my dress until the begining of jan. and I should be getting it in a couple weeks...PLENTY of time for the wedding. Just knock it out in one weekend..you will be fine!

If it helps make you feel better, when I ordered my dress, it was in within 10 days (and I didn't have it rush ordered either).

I agree with everyone else. Go forth and find a dress this weekend. You should be fine. Most dresses need 4 weeks to 3 months for delivery. After which there usually are alterations so getting things movin would be a good idea.
I am on the fence with buying on line. I have talked to brides at shows buying dresses off the rack because the dress they got on line was not at all what they expected. If you can try it on somewhere, and can get a better deal on line, then I don't see a problem. If you cannot then maybe buying on line not such a good deal.
One other piece of advice is to try things on even dresses you are thinking are not for you. You'll be surprised they look loads different on.
Happy shopping
