Last week my parents' neighbor was walking one of his dogs, not sure if it was on a leash or not, and I think it was at night. But this car came up over a hill too fast, the dog started running into the street, and got ran over! The car didn't even stop, just took off like nothing happened! What is with people?! I feel so sorry for this guy! I can't imagine what it would be like watching your pet get killed!

How awful!
This is one of the many reasons I walk my dogs only in certain areas and only during the day and ALWAYS on a leash. I also pull them to the side and we stop for cars.
So sad :(

I know someone whose husband was walking their two dogs (on leash) one night about a year ago, and a car hit one of the dogs and killed it. The husband and other dog were both scratched up and very traumatized. I can't even imagine how terrible that would be!

How callous to not even stop the car to see if the dog was okay! That just breaks my heart. :(

I can't believe that the car didn't even stop! What a horrible situation! At least your parents neighbor is okay!

It is terrible. Going home and the other dog not having its buddy anymore...that would make me sad.

I can believe it didn't stop, but the behavior is still unacceptable. When I walk my dogs and it is dark, I carry a flashlight, not so I can see, but so we can be seen. Even on my rural, dead end road, some people go too fast at times, and in some places (next to the creek) there is nowhere to get off the road unless we all jump in. This is very sad.

Carrying a flashlight is a good idea!
