I had a song all picked out but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it wasn't the one for me. It made me sad to listen to and I didn't want that on my wedding day. So, I an opting for "All I Want is You" by U2. For some reason I think it is just a sexy sounding song.

You say you want diamonds on a ring of gold
You say you want your story to remain untold.
All the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you.

You say you'll give me a highway with no-one on it
Treasure, just to look upon it
All the riches in the night.

You say you'll give me eyes in the moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
A harbour in the tempest.
All the promises we make, from the cradle to the grave
When all I need is you.

You say you want your love to work out right
To last with me through the night.

You say you want diamonds on a ring of gold
Your story to remain untold
Your love not to grow cold.
All the promises we break, from the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you.

we are going to be really Cheesy and have our first dance to the backstreet boys, Its one off their newest album and we heard it together for the first time and thought it was perfect. Its got some significance too coz before leighton owned his menswear store he used to be in a boy band (not famous or anything they used to perform in bars, clubs and holiday camps all over England) and they used to sing the backsteet boys then as part of their show.

We are having Freebird by Lynard skinnard - its an oldish heavy rock song that we both love to listen and dance to and its got a bit of soft smoochy music in it to keep others happy lol we didnt want to go with tradition but rather something that was us xxx

We finally decided, well actually our dance teacher decided for us!
We started going to a dance instructor secretly (no one from the wedding knows). She picked "the way you look tonight" by elton john.
We're doing the Fox Trot and the ramba, with some fancy turns and dips.

we select this song for our first dance:

When a Man Loves a Woman

By: Michael Bolton

When a man loves a woman
Can't keep his mind on nothin' else
He'd trade the world
For a good thing he's found
If she is bad, he can't see it
She can do no wrong
Turn his back on his best friend
If he puts her down

When a man loves a woman
Spend his very last dime
Trying to hold on to what he needs
He'd give up all his comforts
And sleep out in the rain
If she said that's the way
It ought to be

When a man loves a woman
I give you everything I've got (yeah)
Trying to hold on
To your precious love
Baby please don't treat me bad

When a man loves a woman
Deep down in his soul
She can bring him such misery
If she is playing him for a fool
He's the last one to know
Loving eyes can never see

Yes when a man loves a woman
I now exactly how he feels
'Cause baby, baby, baby
I am a man
When a man loves a woman

We have a few idea's at the moment nothing is set and we have over a year to choose but some of our favs at the moment are..

The One I Love - David Gray (I have only recently been introduced to this song and just love the sounds of it, it's one of our front runners) what are your thoughts on this one??

Amazed - Lonestar - I love love love this song but I feel it has been done by so many people.(I think if we don't use it for first dance it will get used for something else)

You And ME - Lifehouse- I really like this one too it is just so sweet sounding.

Ok others we are also considering are Eternal Flame, Unchained Melody and there are a couple more. I just want the song we choose to be perfect it is the song we are going to remember for the rest of our lives.

Our song so far has always been Dillemma by Nelly and Kelly just because when we first started dating it would always come on but it's about breaking up and being with someone else or something like that.

Sorry for rambling :bbeek: .

We chose Remember When by lan Jackson:

Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
Where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when

Because of our circumstances (both previously married and cheated on) we decided this was the perfect one for us...little did we know when we were going through what we thought was the end it was only the beginning and we wouldn't change a thing!

Rascal Flatts---Bless The Broken Road

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Now I'm just rolling home
Into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you.

I'm pretty sure we are using "The More I See You" by Michael Buble. It was a very hard decision to decide between the original version of the song by Nat King Cole or by the updated version by Michael Buble...but the Michael Buble version is more upbeat...so I think we are going ot go with that.

We also used " God Bless the Broken Road" - by Rascal Flatts. It sounds like this songs was written just for us. I know how cowboysbride feels. This is my second marriage and his first. But it has been a long road for the both of us to get to where we are. I love that song. I also had a second song right after our first dance, I dedicated it to Nicholas and he had no idea. I had " Can I Have This Dance"- by Anne Murry. He wanted off the dance floor cause he was loosing his pants. LOL I had no idea.

We are still undecided on what our first dance is going to be. I want Broken Road by Rascall Flatts but he wants to sing our song which is I cross my heart. When he proposed to me he got down on one knee in front of everyone asked me and then sang "I crossed my heart" Karaoke While we danced it was so sweet. I am just not sure whether i want his attention to be on the singing too or just me. lol Im not selfish or anything.

We haven't really talked about it yet. Some choices are:

At Last - Etta James
Somebody - Depesche Mode
Come Away With Me - Norah Jones

We don't really have 'a song'. My top choice is At Last.

Oh, and I was saying I love U2 - All I want is you that someone had chosen. I couldn't figure out how to do the box inside box thing.

This is our song

"when I look into your eyes" by firehouse

I see forever when I look in your eyes
You're all I ever wanted, I always want you to be mine
Let's make a promise 'till the end of time
We'll always be together, and our love will never die

So here we are face to face and heart to heart
I want you to know we will never be apart
Now I believe that wishes can come true
'Cause I see my whole world
I see only you

Chorus:
When I look into you eyes
I can see how much I love you
And it makes me realize
When I look into your eyes
I see all my dreams come true
When I look into your eyes

I've looked for you all of my life
Now that I've found you, we will never say goodbye
I can't stop this feeling and there's nothing I can do
'Cause I see everything, when I look at you

Chorus

When I look into your eyes
I can see how much I love you
And it makes me realize
When I look into your eyes
We will always be together, and our love will never die
When I look into your eyes
I see all my dreams come true
When I look into your eyes
When I look into your eyes

I love this song! I saw Firehouse a few years ago in the front row and got the lead singer's (I don't remember his name) water bottle 'cause he threw it right at me and lipped "good catch".

I posted this before but here's the lyrics:

"All I Ever Needed" ~ Bret Michaels of Poison

"There you lay, and here I stand."
He knelt down on his knees an' took her by the hand.
"We've seen some good times,
"Been through some bad,
"But somewhere between the laughter and the tears,
"We sure had a lot of great years."

He said: "We didn't need fortune, didn't need fame:
"Just a little shelter from the rain;
"Your hand to hold on to.
"When times got tough you pulled me through, (Pulled me through.)
"We didn't need a castle made of stone,
"Just you there, as I grow old,
"Your heart to hold on to:
"All I ever needed was you.
"Was you."

Remember our first dance and our first kiss.
I pictured my life with you to be just like this.
You stood by me. (Ooh, you stood by me)
I stand by you. (I stand by you)
We share the laughter, joy, and pain,
But it's a moment like this I hope it never ends. (Ooh, it should never end.)

We didn't need fortune, didn't need fame:
Just a little shelter from the rain;
Your hand to hold on to.
When times got tough you pulled me through, (Oh, you pulled me through.)
We didn't need a castle made of stone, (No, no.)
Just you there, as I grow old, (So old.)
Your heart to hold on to:
All I ever needed was you.

Instrumental break.
(Share my life with you, girl.)
(Oh Yeah,)
(Oh, all I ever needed.)

I thank you for sharing your life with me,
For giving me a reason to believe. (Reasons to believe.)
For loving me for who I am.

We didn't need fortune, didn't need fame:
Just a little shelter from the rain;
Your hand to hold on to.
When times got tough you pulled me through, (Yeah, you pulled me through.)
We didn't need a castle made of stone, (No, no.)
Just you there, as I grow old,
Your heart to hold on to:
All I ever needed,
All I ever needed was you. (Yeah.)

You're all I ever needed.

Artist: Alan Jackson Lyrics
Album: Drive Lyrics
Title: Once In A Lifetime Love Lyrics
(Alan Jackson)

Some people have it, some people don't
Some people never will
Sometimes it's hard to know when you've got it
Sometimes it's perfectly clear

Well I know it's out there I've seen it happen
I know the way it should feel
Cause there's no mistakin'
That good kind of achin'
Of a once in a lifetime love

Once in a lifetime love
A love like we've all dreamed of
It may go disguised or right before your eyes
A once in a lifetime love

So if you think you've got it
If you feel it inside you
Don't let it slip away
Cause you may not ever find what you never
Thought you'd have anyway
And if you've always had it and just realized
You know how lucky you are
To wake up beside what some never find
A once in a lifetime love

Once in a lifetime love
A love like we've all dreamed of
It may go disguised or right before your eyes
A once in a lifetime love

It may go disguised or right before you eyes
A once in a lifetime love

My FH and I chose "I want to grow old with you", by Adam Sandler. The song he sang to Drew Barrymore at the end of The Wedding Singer. It is so perfect for us, because we are best friends and eachother rock, and we want to grow old together. and its alittle goofy like us!!!!
