Just wanted to share an idea I was thinking of doing.
I think I'm going to make up little loot bags for the kids coming to the wedding (there will be about 5 kids). I will put things to keep them occupied and busy, so that they're not being menacing! I'm just going to go to the dollar store and wall-mart, it will cost approximately $6/kid.

That's a great idea!! I think I'll do that, too. What all are you putting in them?

Shawna,
I think this is a great idea! There are so many things you could do with this. And agreed, Dollar Store and Walmart are the best places to buy nice stuff, cheap!

Well, I have a flower girl who will be 3, and all of the other kids will be older. So, I'll get her a couple of coloring books, and some crayons, stickers, maybe a My Little Pony and some sunglasses and such.

What about the older kids, though? They'll be 10-15. What kinds of stuff would be good for them to do?

I wouldn't worry about the older kids. I might cut of fthe loot bags at 11-12. Older than that and they are WAY too cool for something other than a regular favor. Some of them might be too cool for that too.

I am going to advise against including stickers. As someone who deals with kids every day, stickers always end up in places that they aren't supposed to be. (tables, chairs, walls, wedding gown, ect.) Also, avoid colored pencils and markers, stick with crayons. Be forwarned of ANYTHING that makes noise too including whistles, bells, ect. Maybe for the somewhat older kids (8-12) you might want to skip the coloring book and inlcude an age appropriate puzzle or activity book instead.

Shawna... Since you're in Newmarket... i thought you should check out this store in Aurora... i belive its called Balloonacy. Its on Yonge Street directly across from the Howard Johnson. South of St.John's but north of Wellington St. They have great loot bag stuff there! There were lots of little games and such.
They also have some nice wedding stuff there too! :D

I'm not sure what I'm going to put for the older kids. Maybe a book of baseball facts for one who likes Baseball. Or some magazines? I'm not even sure if they're coming, but I know that being between 7 and 17, it's gonna be boaring. Maybe I'll let their Mom know that it's okay to bring a Gameboy.

I'll probably cut it off at age 12.

I have planned on doing this. I am going to be sure I know what kids will be thre and I am going to try to have a bag with their names on them. Make them feel a little more special. All the kids that will be there will be alomst 7 yrs old and younger. I am thining of havign somethign for them to do to keep them busy for a while. i saw the big foam shapes and I was thinking of getting a few of them and a bucket of the stick on foam shapes for them to stick on the bigger one. They have suns and dinosaurs and crowns and such. They will also have some little thigns like crayons and such in their bags. And all kids favorites ( I know my kids love them) the glow sticks. They have packages at the dollar store that have 2 necklaces and 2 bracelts in them for just the $1. This will be one of the last things I do. I want to have a small table set up just for the kids to do all this on.
