Hey Gals!!

Hope everyones wedding plans are going along smooth. Anyways, got a question. Is everyone sending out save the date cards? Also, is anyone putting their hotel information in that? How far ahead should we be sending those out? Thanks!!!:bbmrgreen:

We made save the date magnets and on it we put our website address, which has all the hotel, registry and such information.

Nope. I'm not. I'm just going to let everyone know. The family that we're not that close to will either find out from other family members, or they won't know until they get an invitation.

I'm sending the invitations 2 months in advance so that everyone knows what's going on.

I sent mine out at the 9 month mark but our wedding is over a holiday weekened. I didn't put anything on them except our names and wedding date. There is a picture of them in my journal if you are interested. But, I did print our a little enclosure card and include with them that had the hotel information, travel information, and website information on them. I woulnd't put your registry info on there, just include it on your website.

I did not send save the date cards because everyone i am inviting already knows thats the date and are expecting an invitation. I am sending the hotel information in the invitation envelope, which will be going out in the middle of March which will allow them just over a month to book their room. Apparently they will only reserve the block of rooms up to a month prior to the wedding. So i'd say get them out there as soon as possible.

Welcome! If you need help, just go ahead and start your own thread. When you 'piggyback' on someone else's thread you often don't get the help you need. ;)

Just go ahead and ask away, though. When is your wedding? Give us some details and we'll do our best! :bbmrgreen:

Thank you so much. I did try to post my own, I will see how that works. My wedding is set (so far) for Nov 4th this year.

We are sending out Save the Date cards at the 6 month mark...which is what I have heard is the "normal" etiquette however it kinda depends on the circumstances too...when the wedding is, where it is at and where a lot of your guests are coming from...Generally speaking, if you have a lot of out of town guests that will have to make travel arrangements, the sooner that they are reminded of the date (and it is set in stone) the better....

Thank you for the info. I was thinking of doing it at about the same time. We just got engaged last weekend, and we are having the wedding in Nov this year. My family is all here, but his is all in Iowa and Tennessee. So, that may be quite usefull for them.

We are going to send out STD cards next month. That will put it at about the 7 month mark.

You might want to just do what I did. I save all the info that I put intot he STD's. Now that it is almost time for me to send out the invites, I am just reprinting it and sticking it in there with them too. People tend to lose or forget stuf fin a big time span like 6 months.
