I didn't watch it, but I heard he owned the floor last night! He's so handsome!
I talked to sveral people in Beagle rescue today, and they have gotten some interest in adoptable Beagles because of last night's win, but I also have a feeling the backyard breeders and puppymills are going to start churning out Beagles even more than they already do. :(

Yeah!!!!!
PG - That is great for those beagles that are up for adoption but won't this mean that puppy mills are going to want to breed them more now? :( Just watch the prices go up in the pet stores too.

Yeah, that's what I was saying. :)
It is great for the few that will get adopted and rescued because of it, but there will be many, many more that end up being the victims of puppymills, pet stores, and BYBs. As if there aren't already enough Beagles out there looking for homes.

Do they rescue them from medical facilities too? I was shocked to hear that Beagles are the "chosen" medical testing dog.

I saw that the Beagle won BIS ... I heard that this was apparently a first for the breed.

I've heard of some rescue organizations rescuing dogs from testing facilities, but because it's often legal for these places to test, the number of animals rescued from them is often pretty low from what I've heard. The few dogs I've seen that came from testing facilities had lived most of their lives in a cage or dog run and they had no concept of what it was like to be an actual pet. :(
