Custom Honey Jars -- Ideas?!

Back last year I saw honey jars as favors in an article in Organic Style. I loved the idea from the moment I saw it, but at $18 a pop, the ones in the mag were out of the question. Even the ones I found online (both smaller and cheaper) weren't that cuteand weren't worth the money. So, I gave up and didn't know what to do. I mentioned my idea to my dad... Well.... My Step-Mom's dad is a bee keeper, and I'm getting the honey for free!

Well, I'm going to Arkansas on Friday to visit my dad, we're going to jar, label, and tie up the little jars with ribbon and material and get them ready. I'm making the labels on Photoshop... But what should I put on them?

I was thinking a honeybee, but I want something cooler! I need ideas. I know you ladies are very creative and clever, so please, lend me a hand!!

I am asuming you want the lable to have your and Carlo's name and the date of the wedding.
Possibly do somthing to play up the honeycomb. Maybe a couple hexagons in the colours of your wedding. Asymetrical.... then cut them out. Will be a bit time consuming, but it could look really neat. Then with a nice ribbon arround the top.

Yeah, I think you should put your names and the wedding date on them for sure. Here are a few little sayings I found that you might want to use too ...

"Life is a flower of which love is the honey"
"Love is the only bee that makes honey without flowers"
"Sweeter Than Honey"
"Two Shall Bee As One"
"Meant to Bee"
"Love Is Buzzing"
"Bee My Honey"

Another idea, you could put the jars in a little organza bag or wrap in tulle and ribbon a with small wooden dipper in with each one.

I'm going to check out getting some of the little honey dippers. I can tie them on with the ribbon. It'll be so pretty!!

Thanks for the ideas. I might just use the labels for the honey farm, then put a little card on with the dipper with our names, the date, etc.

Since we call each other Honey, we were going to call it "I'll love you forever Honey" like in the rough draft:

LOL ... I just noticed that, sorry I didn't notice before, I am usually 'on it' with these kinds of things ;) I guess we can blame the baby for you missing it :wink: But at least you didn't print a bunch of them before you caught it.

I get the 'typo bugs' alot, I really gotta spray for those buggers ;) I use spell check alot but, it is hard to check when I spell something right but just used the wrong one altogether! So I gotta get better at proof reading *wink* The other day, I signed a birthday card with my old name :bbredface: I haven't been that for nearly a year!

Yeah, there's going to be some adjusting to do. I'm going to keep my Maiden name for my artwork. I love my signature, and it's part of the whole package. Though I'm going to have to come up with something equally cool with my new last name.

I'm going to fix this in just a few. Gotta do some stuff around the house while the baby is asleep first.
