Just thought I'd see what ya'll think! It's a picnic theme. Colors are blue & white with lots of Daisys...Well, some anyways, I want the daisys to be slightly understated.
Hopefully this works...

Oh, and just so you know...the wording itself is printed on vellum over white paper. Which is layered on the Blue Gingham and the cardstock. Sheesh!

Those are great! I love the gingham and daisy motif! I want to do something similar but using a photo of a field of Texas Wildflowers as the background and tie the vellum on with raffia.
Did you have any trouble printing on the vellum?

Not at all! I had several people tell me that I would because I have inkjet and not laser. But I didn't have any troubles whatsoever! I printed two per page and spread them all over my living room floor to be sure they were dry and wouldn't smudge!

I know. I'm such a slacker. I'm hoping to have them in the mail tomorrow. I've been working on a project for my boss in his office. Does he not realize I have wedding stuff to attend to at work?!?! :bbeek: Normally I have all the free time in the world at work and can pretty much do whatever I want and/or need to but in the middle of me looking up some more addresses Monday morning, I get a phone call...can you come to my office and work on this project for a few days? (We're in different buildings) It's fun and I do have the coolest boss ever but sheesh!!!
Anyways, thanks for all the comments ladies! I'm super proud of them just because they fit the theme I wanted so well...and because I did it all by myself!

Thanks!
Actually, they were pretty simple. I did have to cut everything but I started with the cardstock that was regular 8 1/2 x 11 and just cut it in half. Then everything else was about a half an inch smaller. That way I had about 1/4 of an inch around each edge. (Does that make sense??)
However, my secret?? FH brought the big paper cutter home from work! :innocent:

I went to Michael's and got all of my stuff there. I knew what I wanted but wasn't sure about size, layers, etc.. So I looked at it all collectively. They actually sell packages of envelopes. They have them in several different sizes - one of which is perfect for 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 cards/invitations.
As far as RSVP cards, they look identical minus the ribbon & daisies. They are half of an invitation size (5 1/2 x 4 1/4). Although, I didn't put any to mail back. Since our wedding is so small with just close friends and family; approx 30 people or so; I just put my email address & each of our cell phone numbers for RSVP. I know, not exactly proper etiquette but then again, no one would ever call us proper anyways! :bblol:

Ya know, Arkansas is the inspiration for our little backyard picnic/bbq. Where are you from? I'm from Razorback country....I know, I know. It's all Hog country back there :pompom: But seriously, I'm from Fayetteville.

We live in Marked Tree on the complete opposite side. However I have been to Fayetteville several times and love it there. I am so hoping my DD decides to attend college there. That way I can talk my DH into moving there. haha.
I love the fishing and all the scenery around springdale as well.

Don't I know it! It's coming up so fast and there's still so much to do! Yep, in the mail they are. Finally! Now we're just awaiting RSVP info.
BTW, I used my Xyron machine for the ribbon. You can put almost anything in it...paper, ribbon, etc.. and it makes it into a sticker! I have the small one that's shaped like an X. I've had it forever cuz I love scrap booking but I think I paid less than $10 for it. Made it so easy!!!

Nicole thank you so much for all the info you gave me you are very kind....How about this I love to scrapbook as well that's why I want to make my own but I dont want it to be too difficult..and thats wonderful about the Xyron I'll have to look for it....thank you again....oh if you have any other ideas let me know....we're not officially engaged yet but we have a date for Sept.26, 2009 and its going to be a country, fall wedding theme....I'm soo excited...actually the fiance to be wants to use burlap on the invitation so I'm not sure if it will be too heavy for the cardstock and to mail the invitation out but was thinking maybe we could cut strips of burlap to use as a ribbon...what do you think of that idea?

Burlap is doable. However, does he really want the burlap? Or just the look of burlap? There are so many different colors and designs of paper out there, perhaps you could find something that has the look you guys want.
Congrats though (early!) and I'm sure everything will be great! Just let me know if you have any questions and I'll be happy to help!

Hey Nicole thank you so much for helping me and thanks for the Congrats early....actually we did do a mock invitation last night I did post a thread about it and it came out ok I have to tweak it....little sloppy not as neat as yours....how did you get yours so neat looking and flat looking? Did you use a heavy cardstock? I cut cardstock like you said and glued the burlap with the 4 edges frayed looking with Tacky glue then I put vellum down and the glue showed through so like I said it was sloppy looking so if you have any ideas what time a glue would be better to use for the burlap and I wonder how it sounds silly but could you iron the invitation? so it doesnt look so wrinkly.....I know I'm not even engaged yet and I'm stressing....lol....

I think mine looks so neat to you just because it's all paper. So really it's just paper on top of paper, I didn't use any fabric at all. And the ribbon is very thin. The only thing that really sticks out at all is the daisy. And that was a sticker too!
I don't think I would iron the invitation itself just because the heat may cause the ink to smear or something or even make the paper curl. However, I might iron the burlap before I use it at all.
