I don't think I'm going to have time before my morning wed to get my make-up professionally done, in addition to not wanting to spend the money. I'm also too controlling to have a well-meaning friend whip something up :-). Any ideas on where I can find some tips so I can do it myself? I usually wear foundation, blush and chapstick, so I'm not much of a makeup gal. Wedding is at 11 a.m. in the spring, outdoors.

TIA!!!

Not sure if you have a MAC counter in a store near you, but I know with the purchase of $45 worth of product (I'm in Canada) they do your make-up for *free*. I figure its the best deal out there, at least I walk out with some new makeup and they really do a great job!

Ask someone whose makeup skills you like to show you how she acheives it. Maybe have a "makeup" party with your bridesmaids. Allure magazine usually has some good tips.

You might try doing a "trial run" beforehand or ask for referrals. Not all the ladies behind the make up counters are as "skilled" as others :)

If you like the results from your trial, make sure to book her on your wedding day as well. Pssst bring along some friends who can use some make up. They will buy the make up they need and your session will still be free but LOL

They are also there to make sure that you walk away looking like "you" .

I'm doing my own. I'm pretty good with makeup, so I figure why waste the money? I know what products I like and what look good on me.

My best friend and I are doing mine. We picked out colors together and practiced a head of time. We also realized that I have deep set eyes and so we looked up info online about how to do eyeshadow for deep set eyes. It looks SO much better and my eyes look brighter after following those instructions. Just try looking up makeup tutorials and go to a makeup counter or ask someone you trust to go makeup shopping with you. Good luck!
