Okay so I wasn't going to take the time to post this, but I am rather lonely and bored with Chad being at work almost everyday from 3 pm until 2 am. I bawled today when he left! So food obsessed KMS is posting her honeymoon food diary...

:bblol:

We tried to eat a lot of breakfasts and lunches in our kitchenette to save some moolah. We spent about $60 the first day for groceries that lasted through the week. We were able to splurge on some super gourmet dinners this way.

compliment of the house - potato galette bite w/ truffle oil & alfalfa sprouts

Thursday Jan 24

Breakfast - room service. Very nicely done! We shared 2 plates...

1 egg w/ pico de gallo
oj

Lunch @ resort restaurant - (Good story. We ordered a tuna sandwich in hopes that Chad (who is currently a pesce and not a veggie) could take the hunk of tuna off and eat it while I ate all of the other yummies on the sammy. The sandwich came with a big ball of mayonnaisey canned tuna. Not the $15 quality sandwich we were expecting! Therefore this is what I had for lunch...
chips w/ pico de gallo & guacamole
french fries
1 hershey kiss

Dinner in room
mexican boxed mac & cheese - very interesting
leftover pico de gallo & chips
1 hershey kiss

Friday Jan 25

Breakfast in room
2 pc whole wheat french toast w/ syrup
1/2 apple w/ pb

Snack @ Pie in the Sky Bakery
coconut cream pie

Lunch @ taco stand
2 small bean, cheese, & poblano burritos

Dinner @ Fajita Republic
Mayan fondue - Cheese sticks in sizzling green sauce (To die for!)
a few chips w/ salsa
cucumber & jicama slices
1 flour tortilla w/ veggie fajita mix & gooey cheese

Saturday Jan 26

Breakfast at local hotcake house - Great!
1 apple, raisin, & caramel pancake w/ butter & syrup
chilaquiles w/ queso fresco & 1 scrambled egg on top (chilaquiles is corn chips simmered in spicy salsa. The stuff at our local Texas hole in the wall ain't gonna cut it for me anymore. This was insanely good and authentic!)

Snack @ Pie in the Sky Bakery
1/2 pc tres leches - My fav kind of cake and the best I've ever had! I had to try it in Mexico of all places.

Dinner @ Tapas restaurant (Small tasting plates)...and oh did we taste a lot!
goat cheese baked in tomato sauce w/ toasted bread
a few bites potato salad w/ buttered bread
grilled eggplant & asparagus w/ red pepper sauce
shot glass of roasted mushroom bisque
fried potatoes w/ aioli
1 glass sangria - Chad had the rest of the pitcher!
some sort of creamy irish whiskey shot

Not all that bad. I did behave most of the time. I'd say that the appetizers and desserts did me in most of all, but I was honeymooning it up. Not too much booze either.

That's a really great idea! I'll have to tell FH about this!

Yes! It was the best thing that we could have done. Breakfasts and lunches are generally not very special anyways. We could have easily spent $80/day on breakfast and lunch at the resort without blinking an eye.
