When is the best time....

....to reserve the bakery? We have to reserve one and still ave to decide what kind of cake and what it will look like yet too. I didn't know if the reserving is something we should do now or if that is done like 3 months before the wedding.

i think 3-4 months in advance is good. depending on the time of year it could be fairly busy.... your wedding is in the fall right? I would play it on the safe side and book a bit early just in case. you'd hate to find out their already all booked up.

Hmm.... I don't know. Maybe you could call the bakery. Each bakery may have a different amount of time that they require. Depending on the time of year and how busy they are.

I reserved mine when I booked my reception location which was about 13 months in advance. But call around and see what they recommend.

I reserved mine around the six month mark...everywhere I read said that this was pretty much the time to reserve everything.

From my experience, many vendors book about 6 months in advance of a date, so I always say to start booking vendors about 6 months out. But, it sort of goes by the area and how busy your vendor is. Generally I would recommend to book the baker about 4 months or so in advance, but not more than 6 months out.

We're already booked! I reccomend doing it ASAP! I mean, the sooner you do it, the less chance of someone else with your date booking, right?

O talked to Steve and he said he would call them and see what they say about when to reserve them and when to do a taste test thingy. He is also going to find out when they need a design by. That's tomorrow task for him while I'm working.
