that is so wierd!!! i was just looking at similar invites online and was thinking how cool they are!! They look grrrrrreat!!!!!!
Thank you :D They're quite expensive online... my dad scanned one of the samples we got for free. I played with it in photoshop for a bit.. I had darkened the black, but it seemed too bold for the 'old fashioned' look, so I left it kinda faded looking. Still waiting on the paper to get there, I believe he ordered it on Monday.

are you leaving the edges of the paper and just having this printed on it or are you tearing the edges??

I'm pretty sure we're going to leave the paper nicely cut straight.. if we did anything with the edges, we'd burn them, but that would be messy to the people who open them... so not likely we'll do that.
Here is the final product... Please review and let me know if I missed anything!! I have read it 25 times and can't find anything, but I need some new eyes to take a look :)
Thank you!

If you want to get the burned edge look you could try using some scrapbooking chalk. Using a torn edge to protect your invation use a cotton ball and dust the chalk on the exposed edge. It sets after about 10 minutes and should'nt transfer. Just an idea.

Those are great!! Everything looks perfect!
Got the RSVP cards done, well, the rough draft. I don't have them here at work but I'll post em from home. I figure we're going to use
___ Adults will attend
___ Children will attend
___ Will not attend
That way I'll know how to set up our "kids stall"

WOOHOO!!! You're the first one I've seen that I share a date with. I have seen lots with my previous date (May 31), but no one with 7/6. I love our new date!!!! :D :D :D :D

Hey-
Your invites are super cute! But as an artist myself, I'd be cautious about posting something like this online, because the artist who designed that invite or the company who's selling it could probably sue you for stealing their artwork. You might be better off buying a similar "wanted" font and redesigning it yourself, that's totally legal.
Just FYI to the DYI brides!

I am confused...how can she be sued for sharing a product, she is NOT making any money on their artwork Wouldn't it be like posting a completed a hallmark card?
Just trying to clarify! Thanks

I think what Jaxter is trying to say is that by scanning the invitation (if it is copyrighted) that it could be considered copyright infringement.
Even though FFC isn't making money on her invites, she is not paying for the design either so the original artist isn't making money either. I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know the ins and outs on it, but I think Jaxter was just trying to be helpful and keep any potential trouble from coming of it.
Good point.... and I don't know what to say now.... :purplex: I'll keep this in mind in our designing *if dad hasn't printed them yet*. Maybe we'll change them up a bit.
Here they are!!!

I love the theme look. I once did similar project trying to make regular paper look like paper from the old West...I ended up soaking it with coffee! That made it crinkle when it dried and stained it that off color look.
Of course, you probably wouldn't to do that to your invitations!
Thanks! That's a great idea, and I just might keep that in mind for something else, but you're right - not invitations hehee
