My custom dress update

Hey ladies,
I just came back from a fitting and wanted to give you updates... It's so much fun to have a custom made dress because you get to decide everything! I love it. It's the only part of the wedding that's mine only (no ones opinions count!)

It's going to have crystal halter-straps, and it will hang down 1/2 way down my back and end in a tear-drop crystal. The ribbon and bow around the waist was a new idea, I'm still toying with it. Plus she's adding crystals randomly throughout the dress.
Unfortunately I bought a pair of shoes, which I love, but after wearing them for 1 hour of my fitting I realized they were way too uncomfortable. So it's looks like I've got to buy new shoes...The bad part is that the place I bought them from does not return or exchange! You can see the shoes I bought in this pic:

I can't believe how close my wedding is! I have 1 more fitting then it's time to bring it home. It's all going so quickly!

About the shoes....maybe if you wear them around the house for a while your feet will get used to them!! I am not a heal wearer so my feet hurt for the first hour I wore my shoes too!!(in the store...they wouldn't return shoes either!! Not that I wanted to, I loved them!!) So I took them home and wore them around the house while folding laundry, watching tv, ironing, etc. My feet adjusted to the shoes!! If you really love these shoes, I suggest you give that a go and see how it feels! Don't nix your beautiful shoes just yet!!! I wish you the best of Luck!!

I agree with Canadian bride. Maybe you should wear the shoes around the house. Your feet will adjust to them and by the time your wedding gets here, you will have forgotten about them.

I was thinking I will dye them black, I could wear them for a 3 hour night out for dinner- but not for an all day event like my wedding.

By the way, I noticed in the pictures you can see something weird around the bust area. It's just 'cookies' that she stuffed in there for support, those won't be showing.... It looks funny in the pic so I wanted you guys to know it's not part of the dress.

Your dress is really beautiful! Here's my suggestion with the shoes as they look like the only type of heels I can bear to wear; wash your feet really well and then wear the shoes without nylons on to break them in. (You have to wash your feet so you don't leave toe prints--my FH laughs at me when I wash mine to break them in). Then, the night of your wedding, wear them with nylons (your feet slip a bit in them with nylons, so it will be a bit more uncomfortable). Last little detail; after your garter has been removed (which is really the only time anyone will see your shoes, slip into a comfy pair of slippers and no one will know. We went out and bought specific slippers for the wedding (they're big pink and fluffy!). This way, you still get about a four or five hour time period (some of which you will be sitting for) in your shoes and then you can put on something comfy.

Lastly, and this is for everyone who doesn't wear heels on a regular basis;

WEAR HEELS THE MONTH BEFORE YOUR WEDDING ALL WEEK. Pick some pair that's relatively comfortable and wear them on a regular basis. If you don't, I can guarantee you that your feet will be KILLING you the day after the wedding (because you've used muscles you don't really use on a regular basis-basically it's a workout for your feet). Trust me, I've been there; I wear heels VERY rarely, so I've done that too my feet a few times. I know the day after my wedding, I won't want to be nursing muscly-achy feet; they're going to be sore enough as it is anyways.

Remember those 3 inch heels that I shamelessly bought and thought were garbage? Well, one of my BM's is a BM for another girl and she went to the same shoe store last week. She talked to the manager and begged her to let me exchange my shoes. The woman said no at first, then said that she would hate to be the reason that I was miserable and uncomfortable on my wedding date. So, I went in and got new shoes! A lot shorter and sooo pretty. I'm so happy I didn't have to spend more money on another pair of white satin shoes!! :ura1: :ura1:
