My FH proposed to me at the beach. He filled his hands with sand with the ring hidden beneath. As he asked me to marry him he let the sand trickle away and the diamond appeared in his hands. (he's such a romantic!:soppy:) So what my question is, will little bottles filled with sand and little shells with cute little tags explaining the proposal make a good reception favor?
AND, do you have any good ideas on how I could DIY it? Here is a few links to some ideas that I like:

This is a really cute idea. You can get the heart shaped vases like those in the first picture at Michael's for a buck a piece.
I just got them for our sand ceremony.

That's funny I'm having a sand ceremony too. That's also one of the reasons I wanted to do this as a favor to tie it all together. Thanks for the comments, I actually have a Michael's right down my street so I think I'll get the bottles there. Now I just need a clever & unique way of presenting them to the guests. Any ideas?

So I don't want to be a downer but... I think it is a beautiful story and idea but how many guests are really going to want or even take this home? you could save a bunch of money and make a large scale version with a clear wine bottle. and put it on the guest book table so every one can look at it and read it... just my .02 cents...

I get where you are coming from. What are my guests going to do with a bottle of sand? It will just sit on a shelf or in a drawer and never be thought of again. But what if I were to fill it with colored bath salts that match my wedding colors?

What're your colors? Maybe I can help you come up with a theme.

I think the bath salts would be much more useful. I would probably tie two tags to the bottle. One for the story and one as a name tag that they use to find their seat.

Good thinking with the balt salts. It'll be a cute way of telling the story and having a favor they can use. :)
