I was just wondering if anyone else took dance lessons before their wedding?
How did you like it? How much did it cost for you?

Me - I LOVED it - but unfortunately it was a bit too costly for us - they wanted something like 1K to keep taking lessons (after our promo was over and they wanted us to sign up for their "package") - ick!

I would love to learn how to swing dance more - and the JIVE looks so fun too! (we didn't learn that one)...

Holy cow 1k is alot for dance lessons. I think ours is like $30 a session or something like that. Plus the school does free dance lessons on wednesday and thrusday. I really want to take dance lessons before the big day but I am so far unable to talk my FH into doing it.

Don't go to those chain dance places...they'll always try to rope you in to those packages. Look for smaller, privately-owned companies. You can almost always find someone who does hourly lessons, whether it's group or private (private is always more expensive, too, of course).

We've taken all kinds of lessons, swing, salsa, tango, cha cha...we actually MET in an east-coast swing class (similar to jive). We were originally going to do an argentine tango at the wedding, but have decided to instead do a swing since it's more our speed (quick and lots of fun!).

My advice is...keep looking around if you really want lessons. Don't let them take you for a grand...it's unnecessary.
