Just curious how many people play; how often, and how much do you spend each time? What is the most you have ever won?
ETA - Me; I don't play much anymore, but when I do it is just those $1 scratch offs. I use to get a couple when I'd fill up at the gas station. The most I have ever won on them is like $50; but that was a long time ago.
I friend of DH's won like $30k on one a few years ago.
DH got a ticket today; wish us luck ;)
Funny; if we won alot of money, I wouldn't want anyone to know. I am sure my family would expect me to share :p

I might just win if I ever played. I don't play the lotto .... it's not a moral thing but I just don't like to waste my money.
I don't go to the casinos for the same reason. I just don't find it fun.
Now if you ask me to play a radio contest or any other free draw, then I am in! I have won $500 of beef, restaurant certificates, a trip to Cuba, a Jenair stove, a fish tank, tickets to a variety of events, a blender, too many books to count ...... and the list goes on
I will also buy raffle tickets to support schools or church groups.
Hugh will play the lotto every now and again LOL

I enjoy a good scratch off every so often. Typically from people who have bought them for me though, like my parents gave me a $20 HUGE scratch off ticket as part of a Christmas present... I didn't win anything though haha. But last year they bought me a $5 Bingo one and I won $50 :) Matt and I have bought very few of them... like probably 3. We never win, so its often a waste of money for us. PLUS of course it is gambling sooooo its not a common practice for us.

I would never gamble at a casino or anything like that, but I don't mind the occasional scratch off lotto ticket. DH will buy the $3-$5 quick picks every now and then, but it is not that much of an issue with us.
Back when the lotto first started out here I remember there were people that got really into it and would spend less in gas so they could get tickets
We do scratch offs sometimes. Bruce won $500 last year on a scratch ticket. That was fun!! We gave some tickets to all the kids for Christmas..the only one to win was Alec and he's in KS...so they need to sent the ticket back here to collect.
We will get a lotto pool going at work if the mega million is high. So it's only a few times a year. Doug and I will buy occassional lottery tickets as well, we do like scratch offs, a few years ago I won $100. That was fun.
We do go to the casinos (I can see if from my second floor of my house) :) , but we only go a few times a year or so. I only play quarters, the most I won (and I only spent less than $20.00) was $800.00....that bought a couple tree's for our backyard!

We don't play the lottery all that often. Robert was talking about buying a lottery ticket though because the California lottery is around 50 million.
On the other hand I like going to casinos. I love playing craps. That's the only reason I really like to go though. I don't like playing slots, I find them boring and a waste of money. I play blackjack every once in a while, but it's not the funnest.

My parents put a few of the scratch off ones in everyone's stockings at Christmas. That is really the only time I play. I did win like $5 and a free ticket this Christmas, lol.

Steve is big into buying lottery tickets. I think they are more of a waste of money then anything. Steve will probably spend $5 a week on tickets and maybe once a month win a $1. Not worth it IMHO!
Although we were in a lottery group at work a few years ago. Won $2,500. Once we split it the 5 ways we each got $500. I figured that was my once in a lifetime win!

I play the scratch games on occasion, and break even at best. I think I won $4 once though.

Even though hubby is in every state there is due to him trucking we never waste our money on them.

I usually just play the Bingo scratch offs. i think the most I've won is $10 or $5, not sure. And I got a $1 scratch off 2 Christmas's ago and won $100.

I just put $1 a week into a pot that we have at work. We have been doing it for several years.

My FH and I have three lucky numbers that we play every day (Pick 3). We spend $3 each, and occasionally I'll buy a few Win For Life scratch off tickets.
The number has come out 4 times in the past two months, and three of the times I forgot to play! FH won a few hundred, and I won $225 the other night with our number, and $15 on the scratch off, lol.
I don't see myself playing for much longer... it gets expensive.

I don't play much, my odds of marrying Tyra Banks, Faith Hill, and Sean Connery, then rolling my truck down a hill while it's on fire, surriving the plunge into the Mississippi, and floating all the way to the ocean and living to tell you the tale, are better then winning our state lottery.

I very very rarely play... I had a recurring dream for YEARS that I won it at $58M, so I would only play when it got near that amount (and then again around $85M, since I'm mildly dyslexic  ).... When I do play, I'll buy a max of $5 worth.... I maybe play 2x a year. Every once in a while, I'll get a wild hair to get a scratch off, and I usually win like $2 on them... I've won up to $20.
