What food(s) do you absolutely refuse to eat?

For me, it's mushrooms (otherwise known as fungus grown in shiat); always has been, always will be. Ewwwwww, ick, gack, yuck, gag, sputter, spit!

For me it's probably the norm but brussel sprouts and lima beans. Yuck!!!!!!!!!

I like the flavor mushrooms add to things sometimes, but I don't like the flesh. It is the same for me with tomatoes; I don't like them raw or anything with chunks of them in it :p

I really hate squash and brussel sprouts, and aparagus and most fish, and all sorts of other things. The only veg I really like is broccoli, carrots and green beans ;)

Hugh is bizarre .... he will eat tomatoes when they are inside things like stews, sandwiches, burgers, spaghetti sauce, on subs or even on top of pizza but he WON'T eat one in a salad or on it's own.

I have second the mushrooms thing here...ICK ICK ICK!!

Also, I cannot take tomato soup. When I was like 8 my mom sent some to the babysitter's with us for dinner.. I wasn't feeling well and wasn't feeling the soup at ALL and she kept making me eat it.... 2 hours and some VERY cold soup later she finally let me stop (and I would have gladly gone hungry that night a lot sooner!) and later on I threw up said soup. To this day the very idea of it, let alone smell or taste, makes me gag.

More gross stuff ... I don't eat organs, so no liver or anything like that :gurn: I will eat spinach in salads or spinach dip or something, but I will not just eat cooked spinach; or any other similar greens.

I am sure there is a long list of things I don't like :p

LOL my list is growing too .... no liver, no kidney and I am the same as you with you on the spinach thing.

Oh .... Hugh is bizarre (again). He'll buy a can of spinach, heat it in the microwave and eat it .... just like that .... as a snack! Ewwwww

Robert's little brother is the same way. If we make salsa he'll eat the avocado, but won't eat the tomato.

Just about the only way I will eat any beans is if its in chili. I can't stand them or nuts.

I am the same way! My dad gave me all kinds of heck growing up because everyone in my family LOVES tomatoes and will even eat tomato sandwiches. YUCK!

I'm slowly starting to eat them on salads, tacos, and the occasional sandwich, but only if they are cut up teeny tiny!

I am definitely the minority in this - I have tried on several occasions to think of something I don't like, I seriously cannot think of anything. I am most definitely the least picky eater on the planet. Give it to me and I'll try it!

Are you adventurous too? Would you travel to other countries and eat what we normally don't consider edible? :)

I know there are more odd things out there but we have a museum dedicated to bugs and you can buy chocolate covered insects in the gift shop!

Me? I am not that brave LOL

Haha, my roommate avoids eggs because she calls them chicken periods and it grosses her out.

LOL oh no ..... now I am going to think of that whenever I have my next egg.

OK my oddity - I love eggs but I won't eat them, once they are cold. I dip the toast in the yolk and eat some of the white but, about half of the white gets left behind. If it's scrambled eggs .... I will only eat what is still warm. Wierd I know.

I will try most anything at least once (unless it seems grossly unsanitary). I've tried raw beef (it was actually pretty good), oysters, I love sushi (but not a big fan of things that taste fishy to me, like eel).

I won't eat split pea soup. Can't stand the smell. My mom made it once when I was younger and I tried it and didn't like it, my ex-stepdad made me sit there and stare at it for 3 hours, I went to bed hungry...

Oh, yeah...forgot beets. Don't like them either...but they aren't as bad as liver..I can cook beets if I have too. The smell of liver makes me physically sick if I have to cook it!!

I hate hate hate hate HOMINY! *gag*

I'm also not a fan of the organ meats, though I ate chicken gizzards when I was little.

HATE ham, too. Hate it!!!!!! I don't like sausage on anything either. Bleh! And most of the time, I don't like bacon, for that matter - especially ON anything.

However, I love pork chops. Go figure. :bblol:

Not big on brussel sprouts either, but I've only tried them once a long time ago.

My mom used to cook them until they were just about mush. I hated them until Hugh cooked some and made me try them with lemon juice over top. I am still not a big fan but they aren't nearly as bad as I remember them to be, when cooked correctly.

You can't pay me enough money to eat corned beef. That is just not right.
I don't care for madarin oranges or clemantines either. Ick. But I love regular oranges!

I remember when we were younger me and my sister used to fry bologna (sp), it used to tick my brother off cause he hated the smell. Also, he made me eat egg salad sandwiches outside for the same reason.

I'm a pretty picky eater (I've gotten better over the years, but I still won't touch most things). However, without a doubt, my least favorite food is lettuce. Most people look at me weird when I say that. It's something with the texture of it that I can't stand. But I can't even swallow it if I put it in my mouth; I literally gag on it, lol.

I love bacon, but can't stand it on stuff. It makes whatever I am eating taste like bacon. That drives me nuts.

Any thing seafood; makes me gag, I can't even walk by the seafood section in most grocery stores. ( it is even worse when I am pregnant) But I can eat tunafish sandwhiches.

I do not like liver, but supposedly we used to eat it growing up
Brussel sprouts I hate, I have had them cooked several ways and they make me want to YAK.

Eggplant, supposedly depending on how its cooked it is good. I guess I haven't had it cooked right yet.

I am sure there are more, just can't think of them right now

Hominy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hominy

I like the stuff personally...probably just because I grew up with it. :)

I can't stand eggs in any form except for hard-boiled, and then I only eat the whites. I hate corn and most cooked vegetables except for broccoli, green beans, eggplant, and leafy greens. Because of texture I have to eat my veggies raw. I can't stand stuffing or any offal meats (kidney, sweetbreads, etc.) and am dubious about lobsters and scallops.

I guess I'm a little picky. ;)

I am not a fan of Tuna fish, hot dogs or spam. Uhg, spam I can't even be in the same building when it is cooking.
Of course, at the moment, my hormones make it so that I can't stand to eat pickles or red meat. Both of which I use to love.

I actually did that - I went to El Salvador and ate what they ate....my friend got really sick and I was fine, go figure!

I think I"ve actually eaten a chocolate covered grasshopper at some point...

I hate almost all red meat. I don't eat steak, ribs, burgers, etc. I hate olives because I swear they soak up the flavor of the cans they come in so they taste like metal. I hate almost all veggies except corn. I hate fish like salmon and trout, but I love halibut. I hate mashed potatoes because of the texture but I love potatoes in every other form.

I could go on. I am a VERY picky eater.

I love spinach, but that sounds gross!! Although FH does the same thing with refried beans - except he just eats them cold out of the can with a spoon!

I am not too picky, but there are a few things I won't eat. I haven't eaten ham/pork since high school when we had to look at some under a microscope - but I do like bacon. I won't go near any organ meat (liver, kidneys, etc). I can't think of much else I won't at least try. I spent some time in Nepal before college and got a chance to eat some of their food, which I loved - except for the chicken soup with beaks and feet included.

I do not like cantelope, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes (yuck!), boiled ocra, ... Cantelope just has a horrible taste. Mushrooms are slimy when cooked and are a fungus! Sun-dried tomatoes, I tried these on a sandwich and about died from the taste. Boiled ocra, it's so gewy and slimy, I gag when I eat it.

Every one of you will think I'm nuts.. but here goes, lol.

I absolutely hate meat! Steak makes me nauseous. I won't eat salami, prosciutto, or bacon. I will eat pork chops though. Weird right? (I know... bacon is pork! lol)

I am not a vegetarian because I will eat turkey and chicken.

I guess I'm just weird.. lol

I'm with you on that. I love chicken, but I don't really like beef. I will eat seafood, though not much of it. I like most types of fish, but I can't stand any sort of shellfish except for shrimp. Oddly enough I do like raw fish sushi.

My FH and I tried calamari tonight. Neither of us were impressed. :gurn:
