Even before we got engaged my FH and I have been talking about how we want our wedding to be "different" not teh same old cookie cutter wedding....and want to do extra things that we feel are things that are more "us"

These a some of the things that we are going to be doing that are abnormal for our area;

Our first dance will be before dinner.
We will only dance half of our first song togetehr and then bust out into the brother/sister routine from the FRIENDS episode "TOW The Routine" (we are HUGE friends fans)
We will have a candy buffet (my parents used/still have a huge candy drawer at their house and FH and I used to share skittles almost every day at work)
Fireworks after the grand march (we got engaged during the fireworks show this past summer)
Photo Guest book album ( I am very into scrapbooking)
Chocolate Fountain (my FH REALLY wanted one)
Midnight Cravings (the hall is making pizzas, cookies and popcorn out after 10:30)

That is all I can think of right now....

Do you think that there is such a thing as doing to many "different" things? I am worried that people are going to think that we are trying to do too many things...

Maybe I am just starting to go crazy....all I seem to think about lately is the wedding...

I love the dance before dinner. I have been to all but one wedding where this has taken place and its soooo much nicer.. everyone focuses on the dance and it makes it so much more intimate.

And honestly, anything goes with weddings now, not to mention alot of the things you are doing is something you will find in many weddings (at least in certain areas and cultures) and i dont think anyone will think its over the top or "weird"

We had a bagpipper at our reception; that has never been done before. It was so cool and as we are big into doing family history stuff, we had found that my husband and one side of my family has Irish and Scottish roots. We found which Clans goes with that surname and had the bagpipper play the wedding march for the clans if there was one, if there wasn't they were to play the song that would have been played at the weddings. I LOVE BRIGADOON by the way, with all the bagpipes playing.
