Im not really sure if Natural Makeup is an oxymoron but its what I want. I want to wear makeup but not much. I have a very pale and fair complexion with smooth skin and I almost NEVER wear makeup on a day to day basis. I dont want to show up at my wedding with a faceful of makeup and people now know who I am. I just want a little make up just something to accent my face. My friend suggested a shimmer. But I know almost nothing about makeup. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure how much this'll help, but I'll let you know what I use. I have fair skin and very light eye lashes/eye brows. (I'm a redhead)

Foundation - CoverGirl Advanced Radiance 105 Ivory; I apply with a spong. Lately I have realized that my complexion isn't as crystal clear as it was a year ago. I have some red spots (not pimples, just not even skin tone) This stuff works great to even everything out!

Bronzer - I typically use a warm tone, nutral color and apply it to my cheek bones. It really makes them 'pop!'

Eye liner/Mascera - I typically use black, though I would like someone to help me start using browns! I have always used black and not sure what the browns would look like. I usually use Maybelline Define-A-Lash and then put another coat on that is Maybelline Full n' Soft Waterproof. If applied correctly, this will really create the effect of longer and fuller lashes (I feel like an infomercial!)

Eye Shadow - If I'm going out, I'll play up the color some, but typically on a day-to-day basis, I'll wear nutrals like soft browns and creams.

Eye Brow - Since I have light eyebrows, I use Maybelline Ultra-Brow brush on color. I love it! It looks very natural and blends well with my hair.

All this in usually under 5 min. Very easy!! Sorry if non of this helped, but feel free to ask any specific questions!

You might try a trial run/consultation with a beautician ..... tell them you want to look natural and to go light on the make up.

A certain amount is needed for the photos but if you like the look they give you, take note of what they are doing, what products they used and how they are applying it. You can then do your own make up (a little lighter or a little heaver perhaps) on the big day.

Thanks for all the help! I definitly want to do my own makeup, I dont need to spend any more money on someone who is just going to dab a little here or there. I want something to accent my eyes and lips and thats about it. I have medium brown hair with dark brown thick eyebrows. And like I said before I do not wear makeup so I dont know what brands are good or what colors would work. But thanks everyone for your input!

I'm in the same boat as you. I really don't wear very much makeup and I don't want to look too done up on my wedding day! I am going to have someone do my makeup though, so it looks nice, still hopefully natural though.

If you dont want to get a pro to do your make up on your wedding day, you can visit a store that sells cosmetics. Every brand has a stand and the women who work there are able to help you wear your make up. Not every employee is very talented but I think you can do a little research. I do this all the time. e.g. You want to buy a blusher in a warm tone. Ask her what would give you a natural look and how you can apply it. Can you show me the right moves to make it look good? (and then if I like the product I buy it)

If you want "natural makeup" I recommend elf.com and going to their mineral makeup. I was using bare minerals and woohoo2me got me hooked on elf makeup... it is cheap, long lasting, and wearing!!! I think it covers better than the bare essentials ..... you can use little and it goes on sheer or use a lot for more coverage!!!....

I am pretty much the same complexion. I don't wear make up on a daily basis, so I totally understand what you mean. Here is a helpful tip, found online...

If your complexion is too pale, don't use a pink foundation. Choose a clear natural foundation for a natural look. Avoid very dark eye shadows and lipsticks. They would make you look too intense and tired. Go in for dull rust or brown eyeshades. Use a soft blusher on cheeks, chin and forehead

Hope this helps!

I would suggest not using mineral makeup - the titanium dioxide can give a whitish cast in your photos.

Try a light foundation (Make Up For Ever Face & Body, Laura Mercier Oil Free) applied with a damp sponge for non heavy coverage. Concealer under your eyes. Dust a loose powder on top to set. Use a matte or satin finish blush in a rosy shade similiar to the color in your cheeks when you blush. For the eyes, use satin finish or matte eyeshadows without a lot of obvious shimmer, you want to play up the eyes a bit, so a color in the crease of your eyes in a medium brown or grey would be good. Use a light shimmery shadow on the inner corner of your eye to make you look bright & awake. Stick with basic colored eyeliner (brown, black, or even navy, which makes your eyes look brighter) on the upper lashline only. Curl lashes, apply waterproof lengthening mascara. On lips, you want a look that will last for awhile, so use a lipliner in a color similiar to your natural lips, then apply lipstick, blot, and re-apply. Use a coordinating gloss in the center of your lower lip.
