I looked for a place for this but all the other "my bouquet" threads are individual. So I thought, what the heck. :bblol:

Here is my first attempt at my DIY Bridal Bouquet.

I am happy with how the bottom turned out but I am really debating on the flowers. I like the white ones, but not the green daisies. My hubby likes the green daisies. The bottom is wrapped with a swatch from the white silk blouse I wore when we got married the first time in 2003. The small gold piece of jewelry is a piece of my hubby's mom's earring. It is one of very few of her things that he has. She is deceased. The pearl bracelet hanging from the top is what I wore during our first ceremony.

Input welcome :)

Thanks for the input.
I really am not loving the green daisies.
Also. I think I might try just white ribbon instead of the clover green. I like the shape of it though. I also really like the black. What do ya'll think? I bought 100 black tulle circles from ebay for favors and decided to go with something else. At the last minute I decided to try and add some to the bouquet, since my colors are black/white/green. I really like how it turned out. I'll play around with flowers when I go shopping this weekend.

Thank you so much. It is important for me to have elements from our first ceremony. While it was small and not what we wanted. It was special and it was the day I married my best friend and soulmate. I remember every second of the day. I'm going to post some pix from that day in my journal.

This is the second attempt at my bouquet. I definitely like the white ribbon handle better. This white satin ribbon came right off my dress because I am wearing a clover sash. This give a better look at the flowers. I'm still debating about changing them. Do ya'll like the black around it?

I like the white satin much better. It is very pretty. Do you still have the necklace and earing on the bouquet??? I did not see them... you should still keep them incorporated... I think it was very sweet and beautiful.

Are green and black you're colors? (great colors by the way :)

If you don't like the black you have in there I would incorporate it another way... or just not have so much of it. Maybe use a couple black flowers instead... Don't be scared of the black flowers :)

I still have the jewelry from Michael's mom on there. I didn't add the pearl bracelet yet, but will on the final bouquet. Yes, my colors are black/green/white.

I can't decided if I love the black or not. I have been thinking on black flowers. I'm going to go flower shopping this weekend and plan on making all the final floral decisions.

It's still very pretty but there was something about the green I really liked. It just seemed to pop.

I personally likes the first one better. There was something about the green ribbon that made it pop to me! ;) But either one would look wonderful!!!

I like the white better too! Do you like the green daisies minus the emerald green?

Nice how you incorporated all the sentimental touches!

I was thinking of these for bridesmaid bouquets. (Not the brides bouquet, the all white carnation ones)
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s74/graceface_bucket/wedding/graceface_girls.jpg

My hubby likes this one that I made for the bridesmaids:
http://a108.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/79/l_bde7323cbf4d36f7ab604145606e8563.jpg
If I go with this one I will have a matching on only bigger. If I go with the all white carnation bouquets I will have a round rose bouquet with these roses:

Any thoughts? I'm having a terrible time deciding. I also can't decide between real or silk.

LOVE the bouquets you made! I will have to show these to my FSIL; her colors are green, black and ivory and she wants to use green gerbera daisies :D

Okay. I've made my decision.
I'm going with a round rose bouquet for me. It will have white & jade roses. This is the inspiration bouquet I am showing the florist:
http://www.mygownatblushingbride.com/images/aimee_bouquet.jpg
I am going with the white carnation bouquets with the little green berries for the bridesmaids as pictured in above post. For corsages I am having these:
http://www.karensflowerhouse.com/images/Wedding/mini%20carns.jpg
For tables I am having these made with all white carnations:
http://www.rossirovetti.com/ProdImages/Contemporary_Carnation_Box_lg.jpg
For the memorial bouquet I am having purple/blue hydrangea's as they were Michael's mother's favorite flower. She grew bushes & bushes of them outside their home in Texas:

So now I'm just waiting for my new quote.

Well I have decided that I for sure want fresh flowers. I just am not a fan of silk flowers and cost wise, we're not talking a big difference. I haven't decided if I am doing them myself or not yet. I want primarily carnations so I could order those online in bulk from a floral wholesaler and have them delivered fresh to my house. I am pretty sure it would take me an entire day to complete everyone's. I experimented tonight to see if I could even do it. I have never attempted a fresh flower corsage. I haven't even made a silk flower corsage. I also wanted to see how long they will look fresh, so I know what kind of time frame I will need if I decide to make them myself. So these are photos of my first attempts. All these took me about 2 hours.

The 1st one on the left is my last one. The last one on the right is my first one. I think I improved with each one.

Stacy,

I like your fresh flower choices so much better than the silks! I love working with carns as they are easy to work with and they smell so good too! You have done a great job with your trial corsages and bouts!

Can I ask you how you are wiring the corsages and boutineers? I would be happy to give you hints on how I learned to wire them to make sure they didn't shatter if you want! Just let me know!

Also...a hint to keep them fresh - use a spray bottle filled with water and mist them when you are done making them, then place them into a cello bag and store in the fridge away from any fruit you might have in there. (Fruit gives off ethylene gas and will cause flowers to decay faster). One more hint. When you get your fresh flowers from the wholesaler, recut the stems at an angle and place them into a vase of warm water (not cold). Let them rehydrate for at least 3 hours. Most carnations these days come from Columbia and are dry shipped to the states. They will need a good drink before you use them.

I love the flowers and was thrilled to see the crystal stems in use in another version of flower arrangements.

I've been twisting crystal stems all last week while watching tv - have enough for all the men's flowers, my bouquet, mom's corsages, and hopefully to use on the MOH and BM lanterns with ribbon.

These are beautiful and you did such a great job !

Congrats !

Thx for the tips. I knew there had to be an actual "florist" tip on keeping them hydrated and fresh. :)

I love your green roses and think they will look fantastic. I was also looking at a florist's book and saw this beautiful bouquet. I asked the florist what the flower was and she said they were carnations. Wow, they look REALLY different when you pack them into a bouquet. I LOVE them! And they do smell really good, too. Good work on the men's bouts! I liked the curly pigtail look of the tape at the bottom of your first one!

I totally forgot about this thread. LOL
Well I decided to go with a florist. I found an amazing one who is going to do all my flowers for under $1000. I was so impressed with her, her work, and her price. I'm super excited about it and I don't have to give it a second though. It sure was fun making all the practice ones though.
