What would you do?
If we want to have the wedding there at the country club, they will charge us $250. They set up and take down the chairs. The guy cut me a deal, too, since the usual rate for the outdoor ceremony is $500, but since it's such a small wedding, he's giving me half off.

But, right down the street, there is a public park where we can go, say the I Do's, and though it's not as nice, it's only $80.

What would you do?!
Reasons for the club:
I'm sure that the counrty club would look nicer, and would be easier to do since people won't have to drive.
We won't have to decorate much at the club. Maybe some ribbon and rose petals, not much else.
There might be a ways to walk to get to the gazebo. On the contrary, though:
We'll save $160 I know that we should probably go with the country club, but I feel weird spending $250 on soemthing that will last less than 30 minutes.
Hey Carlo's Honey,
You make some good points on Country Club vs. Park. I think the way that you do. If you are saving $160.00, then maybe using the park would be the way to go! You could put that extra money towards something else. Does the park have a gazebo?
This is your decision, however, I think that the park will do just fine. Good Luck, let us know how this works out!!

Maybe i missed something......what happened with "marriage island"? Brian loved it when I showed him.

Since the downtown restaurants will charge us an arm and a leg for dinner, we have to do something else. It'll take over an hour to get from the Island to the Reception if we did that.
I know. :bbcry: I loved it too!

If you want an honest opinion, I would choose the country club!! Its nicer and you want to be able to look back on it and go wow that was nice...not "what if we had it at the country club instead of in the park!?" WHo wants to regret their wedding?? My MIL is always saying her wedding was a funeral because she didn't get what she really would have liked....don't let that be you!!!

It seems like my Dad is willing to help cover the overage. He wants his only daughter to have a nice wedding..
He's been married 8 times now. He is the perfect person to talk to about all this stuff! ;)

With the park... would you have to rent chairs? Or would you're guests be standing? You may have to rent chairs.
I think that if you really like the idea of having the ceramony at the same place at the reception it will be worth the extra money. In 5 years you're not going to be remembering how much money you saved. You're going to be remembering how enjoyable the day was!

Yeah, at the park everyone would have to stand. Maybe walk over rocky/bumpy terrain. I'm going to go with the club.
Thanks ladies! :bbmrgreen:

Definetly go with what you want. It is one day and $160 is really not that much extra to get married where you really want to.

Carrie, if it makes you feel any better, look at it from this stand point. Like Becky said, $160 isn't that much. I know we are all on different budgets and all. To some $160 is more than for others. But, over the course of a year that $160 breaks down to $13.33 a month. Most people I know spend at least that on pizza every month. (or is our case every week). So, order one less pie a month and have your reception where you want it.

Well everyone else's thoughts are pretty much the same as mine ... With all things in life, we sometimes have to pay a little more for convenience. And like Lacey said, if you break it down it isn't really all that much money and you get a much nicer experience all around ;)
Besides, there is likely to be more extras (decorations, chair rental, etc) you would have do to make it work for you.
Glad to hear that you dad is going to help, I know that must be load off. OK, so I have to ask ... he has been married 8 times? To the same person?
:goodluck:

Yeah, I'm trying not to go overboard too, rainbow. It's tough though.
