Hello. I am getting married in June. Karl, my hubby to be and I have, decided to have a beach wedding. We are very excited.

But I am very confused about what kind of wedding dress should I wear for the occasion.
I belong to a conservative family and all our wedding ceremonies so far have been held in the traditional manner in Church. Can somebody plzzzzz help me.

Samantha

I don't think it should matter... wear the dress you've always dreamed of. Screw what other people think.. it's your wedding.

You can wear some more traditional dresses for a beach wedding if you want ...

I agree. Wear your dream dress. No matter if you getting married on a beach or in a church, it's all up to what you've pitcured yourself wearing.

I am a beach bride as well. I think you could wear anything. However a few this to keep in mind is Heat and Sand. When I was looking I looked for "lighter" fabrics (I went with a thin chiffon with organza overly) so I would not get to hot. Some types of Satin can be very hot. I also picked something with not very heavy beading. Lastly keep in mind your train. I am going to be trucking around on sand and rocks so I opted for a sweep train, so sand and dirt wouldn't collect. Hope this helps!

Yes, I had a layer taken out from under my dress to make it less heavy!

WOW exchanging vows at an exotic beach with the simmering sun in the background, it’s so romantic! You are a lucky girl, Samantha. Beach weddings are actually quite informal compared to church weddings.

Since you are having your wedding in summer at a beach; light-weight fabrics like georgette, chiffon, organza, and voile are ideal to keep you cool and airy.

Don’t even consider buying a long dress with a flowing train as it would make walking on the sand difficult and the dress too would get filthy. In fact, the options for you are:
· A bridal dress with an asymmetrical hem is an ideal choice. It looks like a full length dress but doesn’t prove to be an obstacle while walking on sand.
· A tea length dress is also preferable. You can walk, dance easily without worrying about the hem getting in your way.
For a beach wedding, spaghetti straps or strapless gowns are perfect. They are extremely comfortable. A princess style gown is also a good choice. No matter what style of gown you choose to wear, just don’t forget to carry a wrap or something warm with you as breeze can get really chilly in the evening.

And get a bridal dress which is comfortable to walk in the sand and in the heat of summer but elegant enough for your wedding day.
