I just started a new job and the girl who's office this was left an aloe plant. It's on it's last leg, but I thought if anyone has any expertise I could bring it back to life...
Any suggestions?
Hey Shawna,
Here is the web address. I was going to copy and paste for you, however this is too much info!! Good Luck. ;) www.aloeandcactus.com
If it doesn't work, let me know.....this is a good site!

Ok, I have an aloe plant and to tell you the truth, I don't really do much with it. Occasionally, I give it some water. Other than that, just make sure it gets light; to nurse it back to health some sun would probably be good. You might want to try bringing it home. Also, you CANNOT water an aloe plant too much! It's like a cactus; you'll drown it.
Good luck!
I don't have a green thumb and mine has stayed alive for quite awhile, I'm sure you can do this. :)

I guess you could say I have a green thumb. I have a green house and tons of houseplants and gardens everywhere. So if any of you need any help let me know. I may be able to give ya some pointers.
I have an aloe plant too and I don't do much with it either.
Put it in a sunny window and water it once a month. That is all I do. I treat it just like my cactuses.

I have a gangreen thumb does that count? I almost failed Botany in college. I knew all the theory but none of my experiments turned out because they always died. But even I manage to keep aloe alive for awhile. Like the other girls said, give it sunlight and a little water. It's a desert plant so try to keep it out of cold drafts too. If it still isn't responding it might need a bigger pot with some new dirt. Try transplanting it into a slightly bigger pot with some new potting soil. Also, check at Target or WalMart for some plant food. They should have something mixed for cacti if not just some basic mixture like "Miracle Grow" will work. Be carfeul to follow the directions because too much food will kill the plant. (Also make sure that if you do want to give it a little plant food that you don't have a potting soil with plant food already in it if you decide to repot it.)

Im scared of whats going to happen when I have to start on this flower bed. :bbeek: I told my mom about it and she thought it was funny. I used to housesit her cats and water her plants and she would always tell me not to kill the plants!
