I "hired" a calligrapher. She's a family friend who is also doubling as our day of wedding coordinator. We actually gave her the invites just today to begin addressing! Can't believe it's that time already!

I bought labels and typed the addresses into a template, it was super easy. But you have those pretty DIY invites so you may want to hand write them. I like the labels because they are easy, you can reprint the same labels for thank you notes. Plus, my handwriting is ATROCIOUS!!!

I hand printed mine for both of my weddings...Thankfully the 2nd had fewer invitations...writers cramp was terrible the 1st.:urgh:

I typed up a label template and used a fancy font (don't remember what it is called) and I'll be picking up clear labels to use for the invites and thank yous. I figured it would be easy to give to my MOH for the shower invites too.

I plan to use address labels, I think they look cleanest.

I votes Hand Wrote all of them because that is what I will be doing tonight. I am not gonna lie tho...not too excited about handwriting 200 invites. Yikes!!! I felt with designing and making all the invitations it would just put the final touch on them. Good luck to all who are at that step of the wedding planning...means the day is getting close...yay!!:flower:

I am doing them all by hand but I am recriting all my SILs to help me out. So maybe it won't be so bad.

Oh I know but I completely ignore etiquette. In fact when I find out about etiquette I tend to do the opposite. I'm a daredevil :boxing:

And if someone really has that strong of an issue with my labeled invitations then they may not enjoy my wedding anyway lol.

Good for you :) I think what is more important is that your day is what you want it to be.

I did this for my STD's:

I printed the labels on a sheet of nice paper, cut them out and glued them on..easy peasy. :)

Yes, I did that for my shower too, I just changed the font to match the invites she had printed. Sooooo easy!!!!!

I wrote em all out. Terrible penmanship and all. I can't type so printing them out would have been just as difficult and more time consuming for me.

Well, I decided to run them through the printer...that way I can use the same font as I did on the invites.
It looks pretty darn good....and I couldn't care less about etiquitte either. LOL

I haven't decided yet myself. My FH and I hand wrote the addresses on our STD cards, so I was considering doing that again. But our handwriting is far from "fancy." I just like handwriting them because it's more personal that way - merely a personal preference, nothing to do with etiquette ;) But now my father tells me that my step-mom is teaching herself calligraphy and may be good enough to address my invites by the time we're ready to send them out (1 or 2 months left till that time)...so if she is, I may ask her to do them. So far I haven't really included her in the planning because my mom, sister-in-law and FH's mom have been helping me...but I feel that I should include her in something.

Cindy are you done assembling and already sending out invitations?

Mine are DONE!! Wooooooooooooo!! Of course, there are about 5 I still need to do addresses on, but Jeremy keeps forgetting to get their info. Oh well...that might be five less people at the wedding! Heh!
I'm not sending them out yet, though...I'm waiting until the last week of March.
And I BET you're stressed. You thought you had until September! You forget I've been planning since last June. :gurn:
