On Tuesday Steve and I are meeting with the pastor again. He wants to get some more idea about what type of ceremony we want. He has a bunch of lay outs and vows to chose from which is cool. He wants to know if we want to do a unity candle or something like that. This is where my question comes in. What are some ideas to use instead of the unity candle? We like the idea of what the candles symbolize, but want something a little different. All I've heard of are the candles and the the sand ceremony we were talking about here earlier. Does anyone know of any others or of any website that I might be able to look for ideas? Thanks!

I was going to mention the knot and the hand thing ... the sites Becky posted describe them in better detail. These are great sites Becky :)

I have seen a few weddings do the unity and still do a variation of the hand thing as part of the vows. I have never seen the knot thing where the mothers are involved but, I have seen a variation of it once.

Becky! Thanks for listing those sites. With your help, I modeified a few of those to get the perfect ceremony down. It's short, sweet, simple. Just the way I like it!
