if its what i think it is then its called keratosis pilaris. its inflammed hair follicles. i have the same thing on the tops of my thighs. i used to have it on my arms but that went away. my dermatologist said it typically goes away in your 20's and is common among teenagers.
she gave me a steroid topical that you can get only by prescription and i got this stuff called aqua glycolic. the steroid, if you go to a doctor for it, can only be used once or twice a day for about 2 weeks than you need to take a week break. aqua glycolic can be used all the time. the only thing is that if you shave dont put it on your legs! it hurts sooooo bad if you shave and then put the aqua glycolic on your legs. its like razor burn to the 10th degree. hope this helps.

i had it since i was 12. but it sounds like a good idea to talk to my doctor about it, if its a condition of some kind and can go away with meds then i think i will try that too :D

im going to guess its KP (what my doctor called it). she said its extremely common and normally goes away. now when i notice it starting to come back i use the steroid cream once or twice and it goes away for a while. it is pretty embarassing though. as if i need something else drawing attention to my cellulite! lol

I have it too. My dermatologist said it was keratosis pilaris also. She gave me :
Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Body Creme gently exfoliates dry, damaged skin, while providing 24 hours of moisturization to leave skin noticeably softer and smoother.
Clinically proven to smooth skin bumps and rough spots
Formulated with Eucerin Plus' patented combination of alpha hydroxy and urea, to gently exfoliate and intensively moisturize
Gentle alpha hydroxy works without drying or stinging, so it won't irritate
Contains skin's own urea, which provides effective moisturization
Effective for keratosis pilaris (dry, bumpy skin on the backs of arms and legs) and for flaky, ashen-looking dry skin
Fragrance-free, non-irritating
Eucerin Promise: High quality ingredients and clinically-proven formulas that help keep your skin healthy. Eucerin skin care is safe for sensitive skin and so effective that it's been trusted by dermatologists for years.

My FH gets these too, but they are on the back side of his arm, it seems like he only gets them when he has been playing bball though....

I also had the little red bumps on my upper-arms (never officially diagnosed, though). I've also been using the Wal-Mart brand of Eucerin for about 5 years and use it daily after my showers. It has worked for me!

my FH has it on the backs of his arms and on his legs too but he doesnt want to use anything. i pushed it on him and he says "i dont care" lol. i wish i could be that secure! cause then i sit down and think about it and i never notice it on him or anyone else but i feel like people notice it on me. same with my teeth. i used to have a big gap in the front and felt like thats all anyone saw so i fixed it with braces and realized that i never notice it on anyone else so they probably didn't notice it on me.
oh well.... us women are weird! lol

I forgot to mention that I used to exfoliate the back of my arms daily with St. Ives apricot scrub and THEN use the Eucerin. Now that the bumps went away I just use the Eucerin. I figure my shower loofah probably does a good job with the exfoliating and don't use the St. Ives anymore.
