For the married ladies. How many people did you invite to your wedding and how many didn't go? Where there many that said they would go and then didn't?

Our first wedding there were less than 10, including my husband & I. That was almost 5 years ago. For our wedding anniversary vow renewal I'm inviting a little over hundred. I'll be curious to see how many actually attend.

I invited 175 and only about 15 didn't go. I would say expect about 10-15% not to show up

We invited around 155 and 115 showed up. I had 3 people RSVP yes and then not show up. I also had 3 children show up at the wedding that weren't included on the parent's invite and were not RSVPed for.

Yikes! What did you do? That is my worst fear because its a plated dinner, if people show up they did rsvp I will not have a meal for them or a place for them to sit.

I was lucky that we held the reception at the firehouse in which Steve is a member at and his dad is in charge of writing up the bill...LOL. But I did ask when I called to booked what would happen in someone showed up I wasn't expecting, etc.
As for seats. Two of the tables happened to have an extra seat open so the kids had a place to sit. The other, well the kid ended up sitting on mom or dad's lap. It didn't bother me too much because that one was one where the parent had asked if kids were invited and we said no. So they knew straight out!

This is a really good question. I think we have around 180 people on our guest list, but the caterer keeps insisting that only about 100 will show up. I'm not so sure! lol

We had quite a few that RSVP'd and didn't show up, but granted our wedding was the same night as the biggest rival football game in my city. I still think they should've been at my wedding, but whatever I'm over it. We probably had close to 15 that said they would be there that weren't, and I don't think any that didn't rsvp showed up, but we had nearly everybody either send in the rsvp or called our parents to let them know. It's tough to plan on how many people!!

We invited 85- and had about 89 show up. We had 11 people who RSVP'd yes not show up and 4 people who weren't invited at all come!

So I have a question that protains to this. On another thread there was comment how people bring along other guests that were not invited. And I was wondering if 10-15% don't show up, and other guests bring people along that are not invited. Does it even itself out or not?

Mine didn't- we had to pay for the meals and bar charges of 7 no shows. Although you're right it would have been more if some of those people hadn't shown up...

Wow ... I would make them share from their parent's plates!
We invited about 75. I am not sure of the final count but I think about 60 came. No surprise guests.

Seriously tho, if it does happen I don't want to know about it hopefully the Day of Coordinator and my Mom can take care of it without involving me. :)

Maybe I'm mean, but there are a handful of fast food joints within a few minutes of my venue...I think if I got surprise guests I wouldn't have too terribly hard a time suggesting to them to get mcdonalds :-P Anyway, we're planning to invite about 100 and I'm pretty sure most of my side will show--I haven't even met his mom's side of the family but apparently they're a little weird about showing up to things. I'm guessing we'll have 80-85 attend.

My first wedding there were about 400 invited and although I do not know the end total, because several that we knew of did not sign the book., but I believe there were over 450 that came and went thru out reception and dance.
