Anyone making crafty things for their wedding? If so what? Explain in details your idea(s) where you bought stuff and if you used any online sites or sites that show what you are doing post them please.

I made my own wedding favors with my mom.

We were at Micheal Art Supply Store looking at the wedding stuff just by chance, we orginally came in to buy a few canvas (I paint). We ended up buying a wedding favor book that showed how to make all types of wedding favors for all types of wedding themes. Since, I was having a cala lily wedding theme I was looking for ideas for wedding favors everywhere!

(I am very pickly about the things I buy and I rather spend my money on items that do not look like they were cheaply made.)

In the book there was a craft project that showed how to make cala lily shaped soaps, which is what we made. We had a lot of fun making them, my mom is not a craftly person like me, so she messed up a lot - hey I did too, but it did make for a great memory! :D

That sounds great! I know what you mean about wedding favors that look cheap. I'm not sure what we're doing yet, but I'll have a while to plan. And then some weekend, if I decide to do crafty things, I can invite over a few people and we'll all pop them out. I've thought about making candles or soaps something...not sure which...been worrying about getting on the ball for other stuff.

I'll be making wedding banners for the church doors (our initials covered with silk rose petals, glued to a banner), a monogrammed aisle runner, a cake table runner, my card box (will be putting 4 pic frames together to form a box, pics in frames of our families and ourselves), and most likely pocketfold invites.
I've already done STD magnets; super-easy and approx 30 cents each.

GL!

I don't know how crafty this really is, but we are buying the unfinished pine picture frames from Ikea and spray painting them to match our colours. Then we're going to do print outs of different quotes about love and friendship and framing that. That will be our favour. But we are also going to put a strip of paper across the front of the glass with our guests name and table number so they know where they will be seated. We also thought that when we send out our thank you notes we could include a wedding photo that will fit the frame.
good luck!
