Just curious who here has pets.
We have a cat and a dog. We got our cat in our first year dating. He lived with my FH but I got to pick him out. We got our dog 4 years ago, and he was only 3 pounds when we first got him!
Here are some pics- I hope you guys post some of yours.

We have 2 Scotties, Ruffles (13) and Ellie (3). My journal is polluted with pictures of them.
This is Ellie and "Poppy" her possum that she likes to play with.

This is Ruffles. She likes to shred paper into itty bitty little strips. She doesn't eat, just makes a mess with it. We don't know why she is so weird.

I would love to have a pet...we had a cat for about two days and then I had to give him away because my DH has an issue with cats for some reason! I'm trying to get him to get me a dog, a malamute to be exact, we'll see how that goes!
We have a lovely wee cat called Oyster. My FH got her for me 3 years ago for my 21st.
We are planning on getting a dog as our wedding present to each other. Most likely will be a labourdor puppy. I've always wanted a dog and now it looks like I'm finally going to have one.
Here is my wee girl.

We have a dog, cat and 2 geese.
Here is Simba(dog) and Belle. Simba is 10. We've had her since she was a few weeks old and Belle is 7. We rescued her from the humane society. she was already a year old. I think her previous owner was mean to her cause it took quite a while to earn her trust. She loves Simba as you can see. Even when she does hog all the sun!

This is Homer. Our other goose is Daisy. They were suppose to be male and female but we've had them for 6 years and they never laid any eggs. So I am pretty sure they are both males. Homer is the sweatheart and Daisy is MEAN!! She will bite you any chance she gets.........hmmm maybe he doesn't like to be called Daisy! LOL!!

I didn't get to post in the last pet thread because I didn't have any pictures. So here I am in this pet thread with a picture! This is my Mona:
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d123/usahgrad/Family%20Pics/mona.jpg
I got her after my roommate moved out when I lived in Texas. It wasn't an intentional go out and get a cat thing; I was going to PetSmart to look for a new fish because I didn't have anything and I like fish and had all the stuff for one. Well, they had adoption day for a local shelter and she was sitting there in a box cowering in the corner and I fell in love with her. She smelled bad and she's not a perfectly skinny cat, but she's my bud. It took her awhile to get used to Jason, but once she did, she became even more his bud than mine.

I hope you ladies don't mind if I put my 2 cents in here ... First I have to say to Becky WOW, I have never seen a Goose that big, nor have I ever seen one as a pet.
I see we have a lot of cat lovers here ;) I don't care much for cats ... they make me sneeze. But I remember at one point when I was growing up we had 2 cats, 2 dogs, some hamsters, some fish and an iguana!
When I moved out, I got one of those pug dogs ... I had him for 3 yrs, he was a good dog. When I first got him he was so small I could put him in shoe box and still have room to spare. When I got divorced from my ex and moved back in with my parents, well they ruined him ;) I ended up giving him away shortly after I met my DH. I just didn't have the time or energy to deal with him anymore and living with my parents at the time didn't help either ... plus I developed an allergy, not sure if it was the dog or not.
We don't have any pets now, I am not sure if we will ever have one again. Sometimes I want another dog, a well trained dog. I also use to want a talking Parrot ... neither are likely to happen though. I go back and forth with it but DH doesn't want any pets at all.

My baby Murray!!
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a36/rosesarestriped/000_0026.jpg
He's named after Bill Murray. If you didn't know, I have a weird fascination with Bill Murray. Just something about him. I love all his movies, and out of all of the hot studly actors out there, I'd rather meet Bill Murray than anyone else!
I love all of the little furries! I'm a big animal lover, though. We gave away the King Kong Kitten (knocker-over of X-Mas trees) and the Guinea Pigs. With a baby, all of them would have been too much...
But, here's another picture of Elias!

Oh Carrie that picture is great! Elias is sooooooo cute!!!!
Danny was cleaning out his sock drawer one day to replace the worn out ones with new ones. Later on that day he was standing in the window looking out at the geese laughing. He had cut off the foot part of the sock and made a "neck warmer" for Homer. I can't leave him alone for a second I swear!! LOL! It was pretty funny though. Homer did not like it too much. He would walk around with his head cocked to one side so he could keep his eye on it. I think he was actually scared of it. Danny keeps saying he is going to get him a top hat someday. I am sure one day I will look out and see poor homer all dressed up in a little top hat and bow tie.

Well I was just gonna add to your rep and say 'LOL' ... I can just imagine that scene :bblol: I wonder why men seem to love messin' with animals ;)
BTW, what to geese eat? I am just fascinated with the goose thing ... I have never seen one in real life, much less someone that had one as a pet  I didn't know they were that big (from the pic of someone holding yours, it seems pretty big) So do you actually take them to the vet and such?

I wonder why men seem to love messin' with animals ;)It's probably the same reason that they take an unsuspecting cousin 'snipe' hunting, or dip their sleeping baby brother's hands in warm water--because they can, and they get a kick out of it....
 Probably the same reason that I painted up my little brother in makeup and coconut scented glitter, nail polish and all....

We didn't have a younger brother to harass, so we picked on the kid next door. We would dress him up and put makeup all over him. He hated when we painted his nails because we wouldn't let him use our nail polish remover so he'd have to go home and ask his mother for nail polish remover...hehe...we were bad.

The geese are pretty good size. Danny weighed one one time but I can't remember what they weighed. We have had them since they were days old. I think they are 6 or 7 years old now. I hear they can live for 30 years. :bbeek: Danny had been begging me forever to get them so I finally gave in.
They eat grain mostly. We grow lettuce and cabbage in the garden for them. They love that. Mainly anything green they will eat. They love dandelions greens too. When we put our well in we got so much water that we have a continuous over flow of water so we got them one of those little kiddie pools and they can swim year round. The water stays clean cause it is constantly flowing. It is a little crazy to get up when it is freezing outside and look out and see them dipping up and down in the pool taking a bath. They stay in there most of the day! I call it there hot tub :D Danny bought them a little building and we have a light bulb in there that gives off some heat. But at any time if you put your hand up under their wings they are hot.
They are pretty good most of the time. Homer will let you pick him up but Daisy will try to bite you the whole time you are holding her. And if she gets you she tries to get a good grip and then starts beating you with her wings And YES it hurts. She can even draw blood and usually always leaves a black and blue. Our back yard is all gardens and walkways and they don't eat any of our flowers. They actually will go out of their way to stay on the paths too. (Now the dog is a different story she will walk all over my flowers and hardly ever is on the path.) They never get in the road. They like to chase things. They will chase right to the road and stop at the black top. I have seen them follow people up the road walking beside them in the ditch just a honkin and hissin at them. But they won't leave our property. We let them out alot and let them just wander. If you leave them alone for too long by the garden they think it is an open invitation to an all you can eat salad bar and it doesn't take long to totally de leaf a plant! I remember one time when I was harding off my tomato plants from the green house and I had them sitting outside in the sun. I didn't know they were out. When I went to put the plants back in the green house all that was left was sticks! Yes Danny's ears were probably ringing that day! :censored:
Well I am sure I have bored you all long enough about our geese. I could go on and on. They are actually in the pool right now sleeping. It is 16 degrees out! :bbeek: Crazy!!

Those geese are probably better guard dogs than your actual dog. we had geese and ducks when I was little and the geese terrified me because they were so mean. People would pull up in the drive way and the geese would hold them hostage in the car til my parents went out to shoo them away. Those wings do hurt when they flap you too.
Becky, if you want to give them a real treat, get some minnows or those feeding goldfish and drop those in their pool. Let them go hunting. Homer and Daisy won't know what to do with themselves.
I'll try to get my dad to email my other pet that I had growing up. I don't hae any digital media pictures of him. But you girls will love the pot belly pig, Mr. Wiggles.

When I get old, I want to live on a little piece of land and raise chickens. I'd like to get a couple like Homer and Daisy. Maybe get a goat or two, too.
It would be even cooler to have a house that looks like a shoe.
Now I'm just being crazy.;)

LOL at Carrie and the 'shoe house' ;)
The geese are defiantly interesting, thanks for sharing Becky :) I have seen ducks in real life but never geese. I use to work at a wedding chapel were they had ducks that would love to lay in the middle of the road.
I don't think I could have a pig, much less a chicken as a pet ... I will leave all the pets to you ladies then

They would probably go nuts if there were little fish in their pool! We take them to a little pond that has trout in it and any time the fish brush their feet they freak. But they have never tried to catch the fish they were more scared of them than anything. :bblol:
I had a pet chicken when I was a kid. One of my Dad's customers brought it to me in a shoebox. Not sure why he thought to bring me a chicken *shrugs* But I loved that chicken. Her name was Sarah. Memories
I have always wanted a pot belly pig. That would be so cool. Have you ever watched Designing women? I want a pig like Suzannes house trained and everything. How cool would that be!! LOL!!
I keep telling Danny that I want a house trained rabbit. I would love that. I don't know about my cat though.............She'd probably love it too! :hungry:

My Dad calls me Suzanne all the time after Delta on Designing Women/ Mr Wiggles is about 13. He is litter trained for when he is in the house in winter. In the summer or when it isn't too cold he stays out side in his pig house that my dad built. They aren't the best of pets though. They can be very mean and territorial. My dad and Ruffles are the only two things that he doesn't charge after when they enter what he has marked "his space". They also develope arthritis and have bad eye sight so even when they aren't intentionally attacking they still bite you. They also don't stay cute and little like the pictures that you see.
When we got Mr. Wiggles he weighed about 3 pounds and was tiny that he couldn't eat yet. We had to smash up piggie pellets and mix them with baby food and milk then put them in one of those bottle style infant feeders. THen you had to wrap him up in a blanket (insert you favorite pig in a blanket joke here) and feed him like a baby. The best part was Ruffles because at almost a year old she was 5 times the pig's size. So she would boss him around all day. She used to wait for him to be standing at the bottom of the hill then she would run charging down the hill and smack into him sending him flying. Well, one day Wiggles had a growth spurt. Ruffles charged, hit, and bounced off.

All I can say is WOW Lacey!! That must have been such a cool pet to have growing up :D
That is funny about Ruffles chasing him when they were young. Simba used to do that to the geese when they were small. Not mean just playfully. But now that the geese are big too she doesn't stand a chance. The geese LOVE to chase the cat too. Actually they like to chase anyone who acts scared of them, which is most people. The funniest time is when my brother comes over. He want to pet one without us catching them for him. So he will chase them around the house one time he came running back with them chasing him and he wasn't laughing anymore!! LOL!!! We were all laughing so hard at him. :D :bblol: They have caught him before and bit him in the butt. :bbeek:

Pretty much. My sister says she was on the phone with Poison Control so much because of something the little ones had eaten, she had the # memorized. (And shes shocked CPS didnt come.) She watches her kids....they are just quick.....and most of this happened away from home so she doesnt take them very many places anymore.
