View Full Version : My Vent - Kind of Long

My day just keeps getting better and better.

So, last night, my seven year old son informs me that someone at school is picking on him because of his coat. It's yellow and some kid has been calling him a "girl" because apparently yellow is a "girl" color. I guess I didn't get that memo saying that yellow is now an exclusive "girl" color. Okay, no big deal. I called the school and the principal is going to take care of it.

Then on my way to work, I nearly get creamed by a big YELLOW bus. Some old guy that has a habit of pulling out in front of people and not paying attention. Luckily, I pulled some rank and told the manager that I called that I was Debora B's daughter as my mother works there and he is going to take care of it.

Then I get a call from my District General Manager. You see, I work for at an well-known international company, but I work here through a temp agency. I have been here since the end of September with no sight of it becoming permanent. At my three month mark, I called the DGM and asked what was going on. Were they going to hire me? He told me that he was having problems "justifying" hiring anyone for my position as our region isn't up to standards.

So, this morning he calls and tells me that he has been trying to get them to approve hiring me and he just can't get them to hire me permanently. On top of that, he can't even keep me on as a temp. He told me that tommorrow would have to be my last day.

So, I get a two day notice and obviously I have no job lined up!! WTF??? Two DAYS??? That's all you're going to give me???

On top of all that, I started my period. http://www.weddingchat.com/images/smilies/banghead.gif

So, my question is, WHAT NEXT?????????????????????????

Thanks for letting me vent.

1. LOVE THE SMILEY!!!!! hes awsome!!!!
2. Sorry about your day, been there myself. Tuesday was one of those days for me. I went home kicked back and drank a glass of wine.
3. Kids can be so cruel. I dont think any of mine are getting teased this week, but it happens.
4. I can tell the coat issue bothers you so besides buying him a new jacket, is there a way to "change" his? I mean by adding patches or iron ons and such? Make it look like a race car drivers jacket or a firemans coat. All those cruel little brats will be jealous then.
5. I love it when bosses dont think you need a notice before letting you go, but they are the 1st to demand you give notice before you leave. Dont make sense to me.
6. Eat LOTS of chocolate......it will help the monthly!!!!!! Prefferably in a bubble bath!

I am sorry your day sucked. I can't offer much advice other than at least tomorrow will better for you. So just go to bed as early as possible and wait for it to get here.

If it makes you feel any better...chances are the temp company will be able to place you again soon and I won't get hired on permanantly at my job either...I'm not getting layed off, that I know about, but Jason only got two days notice when he lost his job too. That's how stinky the world has become...even stinkier when yellow is declared a girls color! BLAH!

Feel better. I find hot cocoa with big marshmellows always helps me...:)

P.S. I love the smiley too!

I just thought of the bright side in all of this. You started your period so at least you know you aren't pregnant. That is usually a little welcome news in most cases.

Yeah, whenever I am 'late' I am always relieved that I don't have to worry about that being the reason ;)

OK, enough about me ... Hope you have a better day tomorrow Lizabeth :D

Thanks girls. I did actually go and buy him a new coat at 9pm Wednesday night so that it wouldn't happen. When I got home though, he told me that the kid was still making fun of him. I'd like to get my hands on this kid :censored: .

Hopefully, today will be a better day. I know that NOBODY in our district wants to get rid of me and according to my southern counterpart, the DGM looked like he had run over a cat all day. Probably because he knows that without an office manager up here, this office is going to go to hell-o and then their office is next.
